My Thoughts on the June 23rd Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:

My Thoughts: This was a good episode of Monday Night RAW. I liked the in-ring quality of this episode. I thought they delivered on that. The stories do feel rushed because of how every PPV is so close by. But next week's episode, I hope they try to deliver on the stories, but I do like how much the in-ring quality on RAW has been consistent. But again solid episode.

The June 23rd | Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman) vs. Penta in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **** | This was an awesome opener. This was better than their match in March during the European Episodes of Monday Night RAW. The chemistry in this match looked better than before. In the beginning, it was sloppy and clunky. But once it started to pick up, the match started to get into another gear, which I was really happy about because when they are locked in, they know how to step it up. Penta had some awesome moments in this match and had some moments where he had control of the match. Bron Breakker was doing some moves I haven't seen him do, like when Penta was placed on the top rope, and he hit a jumping knee. Bron Breakker hit one of the coolest spears as he caught Penta in the air with a spear to win the match. Penta afterwards got at it with Seth Rollins, it seems like he's 100% inserted into the Main Event Feud Program.

2nd Match: Jade Cargill vs. Roxanne Perez in the Semi-Final Round Match of the Queen of the Ring Tournament | Match Rating: *.75 | Roxanne Perez tried her best to carry this match, but it was a match, I'll say. Jade Cargill has improved, but it seems like she's way away from getting it all together. Roxanne Perez had some sick moves in this match and tried to make this match a lot better, but Jade Cargill had some moments in the match where she messed up or had a sloppy moment, which happens in matches; no one is perfect. But I wish Roxanne Perez had won this match instead because I feel like Jade Cargill isn't 100% ready for this mega push; she has some ways to improve her in-ring to get to where some of the best are at the top.

3rd Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bayley in a Singles Title Match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship | Match Rating: ***.75 | This match was great and I don't even care a DQ happened because we're about to get Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title at Evolution in couple weeks which I'm super happy about because all women are some of the best in the business so I think this can be a WWE Match of the Year Canadite. But this match was fun, like Becky Lynch has been on her game since returning to WWE at WrestleMania. I don't know what to say because she has made everything she touched great. But I'm glad the finish happened how it happened, and more tension between all three women, which is going to make this pending match even better, love it.

The Main Event Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso in the Semi-Final Round Match of the King of the Ring Tournament | Match Rating: ****.25 | A really fun and oddly great match between two of the top baby faces in the company today. Cody Rhodes fighting on RAW just feels right. This match was better than any match he had on SmackDown this year. Jey Uso has been on some streak as the last couple Singles Matches he has had have been pretty solid, outside of the Logan Paul match, which was abysmal. But the right choice won alot of close calls like when Jey Uso hit the Cross Rhodes but when Cody Rhodes got the win it hit me we will see Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in the Finals of the King of the Ring Tournament one of the few matches I wanted to see when Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE in 2022. But great stuff by both men, and this was a hell of a main event.

The June 23rd | WWE Monday Night RAW | The Match of the Night: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso in the Semi-Final Round Match of the King of the Ring Tournament | Match Rating: ****.25

The June 23rd | WWE Monday Night RAW | Episode Grade: 7/10 (B-) | Another week with solid in-ring quality matches, but the stories haven’t hit. One issue I have is why all the PPVs have to be so close that they don’t allow the stories to develop. But now we’ll shift to the build to SummerSlam next week, as Saturday Night of Champions will take place.

Next Week WWE Monday Night RAW | June 30th Episode | Announced Matches & Segments:

  1. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) vs. The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) in a Tag Team Title Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
