My Thoughts on the May 5th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix:

My Thoughts: A marvelous episdoe of Monday Night RAW we kicked things off with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in Jey Uso as he spoke about what happened last week with Logan Paul but before he got any further into talking Paul Heyman came out to confront Jey Uso and he finally explianed why he did what he did to CM Punk and Roman Reigns as he felt like they didn't care for him like he did for them. He was frustrated by his best friend, his Tribal Chief. Paul Heyman even talked about how Seth Rollins wanted the World Title back as he needs it for the greater good. So a challenge was dished out, but instead of waiting to prepare, Jey Uso accepted the challenge, so Jey Uso was set to defend his title against Seth Rollins for the World Title. The opening segment was amazing, this was great stuff, and Paul Heyman's emotions and how he felt were validated as he was left for dead by Roman Reigns after being tormented by Solo Sikoa Bloodline. The opening match was very fun as Penta got his revenge on JD McDonagh in a very back-and-forth matchup. Chad Gable came out trying to cost Penta his match, but his plan didn't work as Penta dived to the outside to take him out. The Judgement Day plan didn't work in sabotaging Penta's chances of winning, but Penta got the upper hand as he hit a Mexican Destroyer for the win. Penta now has his eyes set on Saturday as he challenges for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Backlash against Dominik Mysterio. Grayson Waller was supposed to have a singles match, but instead gave it to Austin Theory. Adam Pearce didn't state who his opponent was, but we came to find out it was a returning Sheamus, who has been gone since February. This match was fine and a much-needed win for Sheamus to reestablish himself on Monday Night RAW. Becky Lynch came out to call out Lyra Valkyria. This was a great promo battle between both ladies, and Lyra Valkyria has been shining bright in this feud. She has been made to look strong, and they have done a great job of booking her in this feud. Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria had a brawl, which left Becky Lynch on the ground with Lyra Valkyria standing tall before their WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Match this Saturday at Backlash. Roxanne Perez had a great outing against the WWE Women's World Champion, as Iyo Sky fended off Roxanne Perez to secure a victory over her. I thought the match was excellent, really showcased Roxanne Perez heavily, and helped establish her on Monday Night RAW. After the match, Giulia and Roxanne Perez unleashed an attack on Iyo Sky. This feud has been one of the highlights on RAW as two new young stars are setting themselves up for a great future on the RAW Brand. Finally, Rusev had his return match against Otis of the Alpha Academy. This match, I'm glad this wasn't a squash match. I'm glad Rusev was allowed to showcase himself, and he came out looking like a monster. Rusev needs a meaningful feud so people can be invested in him, but this is a solid start for him. They need to continue to establish Rusev. The face-off between Gunther and Pat McAfee was solid stuff, really made the feud mean more. I think they're going to have a solid match at Backlash. But the Main Event Match, and this was Jey Uso's best singles match since his match with Bron Breakker in September of 2024, when they battled for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The match from the jump was good, I like the chaotic feel this match had with Bron Breakker being on the outside hunting down anybody. The near-falls and finishers spams were great, it made the match a lot better couldn't believe how many times both men kicked out. I thought the match was over on multiple occasions, but it just kept going. Sami Zayn came out to assist Jey Uso, but Bron Breakker speared Sami Zayn into pieces again. Jey Uso tried to help on the outside to get Sami Zayn back on his feet, but Bron Breakker speared him into pieces, put him back in the ring, which allowed Seth Rollins to hit a Curb Stomp, but before he could do the pin. CM Punk makes his return and attacks Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins, which ended the match in a DQ, which stopped Seth Rollins from being Champion again. He smashed the chair on both men's backs as the show closed out with Sami Zayn, CM Punk & a wounded Jey Uso standing tall. This was a drama-filled match with a lot of twists and turns. This was a great way to close out Monday Night RAW. Next week's episode of RAW is stacked, but this episode I lov ed the pacing and amount of matches that were on the show they need to continue to be consistent of how many matches are on the weekly shows because 5-6 is a perfect number for a weekly RAW show very happy of how RAW has been.

The May 5th | Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Penta vs. JD McDonagh (with Carlito & Finn Balor) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **** | A very fun TV Match. This was one of Penta's best matches thus far since joining WWE. Good to see JD McDonagh get some minutes on TV as he's a valuable asset in terms of his in-ring ability. I thought this match flowed well, love the action in the ring, and the chaos that was ensuing on the outside of the ring. Chad Gable made his presence known, trying to take out Penta, but that plan failed as Penta got back at Chad Gable with a dive to the outside. The Judgement Day tried to cost Penta, but instead got JD McDonagh in a not-so-good situation. Penta hits the Mexican Destroyer to get the win. A very good opening match, which got the crowd excited and hot. JD McDonagh is such an underrated wrestler in WWE, hoping for more singles matches for him. The Judgement Day cracks are starting to grow more as Finn Balor is starting to become irate.

2nd Match: Sheamus vs. Austin Theory (with Grayson Waller) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ***.50 | Sheamus made his return to WWE after being gone since the Royal Rumble. He went up against Austin Theory in a very solid match. The back-and-forth action was decent. At one point, the crowd chanted, "This is Awesome." Sheamus, towards the end, got back into motion and set Austin Theory up for a Brogue Kick to get the win. This was a very solid return match for Sheamus. I am excited to see what Sheamus does now. Is he going to chase the WWE Intercontinental Championship again? Or feud with someone new?

3rd Match: Iyo Sky vs. Roxanne Perez in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ****.25 | This match was showcasing Roxanne Perez a lot, which I liked, as they are establishing her well on RAW as a big star of the brand. The loss didn't do anything to shift her stock, as her stock had been rising since feuding with the WWE Women's World Champion in Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley. The match was very fun, the chemistry was there, do I think they can put on a better match than this, 100%. Iyo Sky has been the ace of WWE as she has been the MVP of this company this year and is one of the most popular acts on television. After the match, Iyo Sky tried to show respect to Roxanne Perez after she walked away. Giulia and Roxanne Perez dished out a vicious attack to stand tall over the WWE Women's World Champion.

4th Match: Rusev vs. Otis (with Akira Tozawa & Maxxine Dupri) in a Singles Match | Rating: **.75 | This was an okay match to display Rusev in his return to WWE. Otis was a fine first opponent for him. I thought this was going to be a straight-up brutal squash match, which I'm glad it wasn't. Rusev looks in marvelous shape, he still can go in the ring. Rusev got Otis in the Camel Clutch to get the win, then afterwards attacked Akira Tozawa and brutalized the Alpha Academy. They need to do something with the stock and momentum Rusev has put him in a first meaningful feud to establish him as the monster he claims himself to be.

The Main Event Match: Seth Rollins (with Bron Breakker & Paul Heyman) defeated Jey Uso (c) in a Singles Titles Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship | Match Rating: **** | This was Jey Uso's best singles match since his match with Bron Breakker in September of 2024, when they battled for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. This was a great way to close out Monday Night RAW.
