My Thoughts on the October 20th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: The show would've been a eight if LA Knight won but this was a very poor decsision by WWE as the show tonight wasn't bad by any means but having Jey Uso be the focal point and might win his 2nd World Title is actually7 insane when LA Knight would've been a good oppenent for CM Punk, and that match would've been very much enjoyable. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee getting the WWE World Tag Titles was the right choice; they can rejuvenate a dead Tag Division. The matches on the show were decent, but what I'm upset about is the Creative Malpractice. A lot of negative buzz about Jey Uso winning, having LA Knight win, gives us the hope he can do it and become World Champ. Jey Uso, in this match, we're 90% sure CM Punk will become a 6x WWE World Champion, which I'll be super happy about, but Jey Uso isn't the guy in different companies; he's a Tag Guy or a Mid-Card Act. One catchphrase really put him on the map more, and his 1st initial World Title reign was awful and didn't need to happen. Overall, RAW needs to stop with the Jey Uso and Bloodline Lore, go back to the Tag Team Division, and let Roman Reigns have something non-Bloodline related. Creative Malpractice and just shoving down Jey Uso in our throats.
The October 20th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) (c) vs. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee in a WWE World Tag Team Titles Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was such a great tag team match. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee's pairing has been awesome. They had a total of three matches tagging together, and now they're the new WWE World Tag Team Champions, which is awesome, as this is AJ Styles' 2nd time winning a Tag Title, and Dragon Lee's first-ever Main Roster Title. But the match itself was great by all means. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh were wrestling their asses off, and AJ Styles and Dragon Lee's team chemistry was off the charts. I was worried that the Los Americanos were going to help The Judgement Day retain, but nope, as AJ Styles got the win, and now they are the new WWE World Tag Team Champions with Dragon Lee. I hope this is what RAW needed to reshape and redirect the lifeless Tag Division. I hope this also signals that Dragon Lee isn't with the LWO and he's his own man, and with AJ Styles, with no affiliation with the LWO. But awesome opener of a match. Finn Balor and KJD McDoangh will get there pending rematch and I hope it takes place; ace at WWE Saturday Night Main Event.
The 2nd Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — This match was just one comedy match because Rusev, even though protected in this match, still lost to Dirty Dom Mysterio, which I believe Rusev, given his run against Sheamus, had the chance to be the next WWE Intercontinental Champion, but that wasn't the case, with outside chaos caused by Penta, was able to low-blow Rusev again and get the win to retain his title. I feel like a Triple Threat Match is coming, and I think it's what I found crazy. The Triple Threat would be best if it took place at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
The 3rd Match: Maxxine Dupri vs. Becky Lynch (c) in a WWE Women's Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — Maxxine Dupri had another fun performance, as the hard work she has been doing with Natalya in the Hart Dungeon has been doing wonders, as she has been having one of her best stretches in terms of in-ring work in her short career. Becky Lynch was working her and trying to make an example, but man, the amount of near falls we saw with Maxxine Dupri almost beating Becky Lynch. But we got a DQ finish, and I thought AJ Lee was going to come out and make the save, but nothing happened, so this feud will continue, I assume, between Becky Lynch and Maxxine Dupri because technically Maxxine Dupri is 2-0 against Becky Lynch now.
The 4th Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez (with Raquel Rodriguez) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Had high expectations for this match, but it was met with a lot of disappointment. Stephanie Vaquer wrestling weekly should be the norm as she's champion, and I feel like champions need to wrestle a lot to make themselves a workhorse. Roxanne Perez had a rare down performance. Stephanie Vaquer got the win but was attacked afterwards and was met with Nikki Bella, making the save as she saved Stephanie Vaquer from a beatdown from The Judgement Day's own Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez.
The Main Event Match: Jey Uso vs. AJ Styles vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee vs. El Grande Americano vs. Finn Balor vs. Grayson Waller vs. Ivar vs. JD McDonagh vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Kofi Kingston vs. LA Knight vs. Otis vs. Penta vs. Rusev vs. Sheamus in a WWE World Heavyweight Title Number One Contendership Battle Royal | The Match Rating: *** — LA Knight should've won this. I'm upset because why are we reheating the Bloodline Lore Story? I don't want it, and it's 2025. Why do we need to see this? There's no point in seeing this on our screens when LA Knight should've been the one who needed to face CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, as it makes more sense because that could give LA Knight an actual shot at winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title. But this was such a lackluster match, and haulting the Bron Breakker Angle to focus on the Bloodline is ridiculous.
The October 20th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) (c) vs. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee in a WWE World Tag Team Titles Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was a fantastic tag team match. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee have quickly become an impressive duo, winning the WWE World Tag Team Titles in only their third outing together. For Styles, it’s his second Tag Title, and for Dragon Lee, it marks his first Main Roster championship. Both teams delivered a high-energy performance, with Balor and McDonagh wrestling their hearts out and Styles and Lee showcasing remarkable chemistry. I was concerned that Los Americanos might interfere to help Judgment Day retain, but instead, AJ Styles clinched the victory for his team. This win not only injects new life into RAW’s Tag Division but also establishes Dragon Lee as an independent force, separate from LWO and alongside Styles. Fantastic opening match! Balor and McDonagh deserve a rematch, and I hope it happens at the WWE Saturday Night Main Event.
The October 20th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 5.75/10 (C-) — This show could’ve been rated higher if LA Knight had won, but I think WWE made a bad call with Jey Uso at the center. The show itself wasn’t bad, but making Jey the focus and potential two-time world champion is overkill, especially since LA Knight vs. CM Punk would have been a great match. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee winning the Tag Titles was the right move to help the weak Tag Division. The creative choices, especially pushing Jey Uso, are frustrating. He’s not a world title guy, and his first reign was pointless. RAW needs to stop focusing on Jey Uso and the Bloodline and put more energy into the Tag Division and Roman Reigns’ storyline.
