My Thoughts on the October 6th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: Tonight featured a night of solid matches and meaningful storyline progression. Highlights included Maxxine Dupri scoring an upset win over Becky Lynch, Kairi Sane defeating IYO SKY, and CM Punk & LA Knight besting The Usos. AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, and Penta also got a big win over The Judgment Day. Throughout the show, the women’s division received strong focus, and ongoing feuds—like those involving Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes—were pushed forward with promos and segments. The show was praised for its good match quality and engaging stories, especially for the women wrestlers. Overall, it received positive reviews for balancing action and advancing several storylines.
The October 6th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Maxxine Dupri vs. Becky Lynch in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Natalya must get her credit because Maxxine Dupri looked good in this match. She had her best performance to date, and she didn't look out of place, and she got the biggest win of her career. Becky Lynch, being cocky, didn't realize she was about to lose by countout, and now Maxxine Dupri has defeated the WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion, so a future title match is coming for Maxxine Dupri.
The 2nd Match: Roxanne Perez (with Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Lyra Valkyria (with Bayley) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — A cool match between these two; they could have a way better match. The one they had last month was way better. This story of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria has been interesting because Bayley has an interesting persona again, and that's what was lacking for her. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez have been very good in this story as well. Roxanne Perez's win was the right choice I thought I think this win was very much needed. She has been losing a lot as of late, and I'm glad she got a win in the column. But next week in Perth, Australia, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria will tag alongside each other to take on The Judgement Day's own Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
The 3rd Match: Kairi Sane (with Asuka) vs. IYO SKY in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a decent match, I'm very much glad Kairi Sane got the win because she needed that, and I like how she has been conflicted with hurting IYO SKY because Asuka has so much control over her. This storyline has been easily one of the best storylines under the Triple H regime. Every woman in this story has excelled, and I'm very much excited for the Tag Team Match where the Kabuki Warriors take on IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley at WWE Crown Jewel.
The 4th Match: AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta vs. The Judgement Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — This was easily the best match of the night for me. Dragon Lee has become a weekly part of Monday Night RAW since the Summer, and seeing him in feuds teaming with AJ Styles has been great; they have been elevating his status and making him a main player of Monday Night RAW. However, Penta also tagged alongside them, as he is back on his quest to win the WWE Intercontinental Title from Dominik Mysterio. For the Judgement Day, they are still a dysfunctional team, with internal tension within the group. I liked how the in-ring action was, and I liked how Rusev came out, in which he made JD McDonagh take the pin, and lost for the team. But we also saw Penta by accident superkick Rusev, and as you saw later on the show, Penta will have a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Title next week, and we all know how that's going to end with Rusev interfering and costing Penta his chance. But this was a very fun Six-Man Tag Team Match. AJ Styles afterwards cut a quick promo about his final match against John Cena this Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel, and I'm excited for that match as it's the match I'm most anticipating for this coming Saturday.
The Main Event Match: CM Punk & LA Knight vs. The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Weakest Match on the show, and I was excited when announced, but this match didn't hit at all for me. But what I did like was LA Knight stealing CM Punk's moment, and light as he got the pinfall win over the Usos to get their team the win. The story of CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight with their need for the WWE World Heavyweight Title is interesting because I wonder who's next for Seth Rollins. We know WarGames is coming, but I assume the next title defense for Seth Rollins will either be at Madison Square Garden RAW or at the December Event. But this was a weak Main Event; however, the ending was my favorite part. LA Knight has been thriving in this story and his chase for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
The October 6th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta vs. The Judgement Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — The six-man tag match, considered the night’s highlight, saw Dragon Lee’s growing presence on RAW as he teamed with AJ Styles and Penta. Penta remains focused on the Intercontinental Title while Judgement Day’s internal drama continues. Rusev’s intervention helped secure the win for Lee’s team, but a mistaken superkick from Penta set up more conflict. Penta will soon challenge for the Intercontinental Title, likely facing interference from Rusev. AJ Styles also hyped his match with John Cena at Crown Jewel.
The October 6th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 7.50/10 (B-) — Tonight’s show delivered strong matches and significant story development. Standout moments included Maxxine Dupri scoring an upset win against Becky Lynch, Kairi Sane defeating IYO SKY, and CM Punk & LA Knight overcoming The Usos. AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, and Penta also achieved a big victory over The Judgment Day. The women’s division took center stage throughout the event, while ongoing storylines—such as those featuring Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes—were advanced through impactful promos and segments. The episode was praised for its high match quality and compelling stories, particularly within the women’s division, earning positive reviews for effectively balancing action with storyline progression.
