My Thoughts on the September 29th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: Not as good as last week, but it wasn't a bad episode. Monday Night RAW isn't a bad show by any means; it has been very solid and filled with entertainment. But the issues I have with this show are the consistent rinse and repeat of Main Event Matches involving the Vision. Now, don't get me wrong, every wrestler in that stable is good, but I'm tired of the same matches. Can we switch it up? Did you like Bron Breakker vs. Dragon Lee? Bronson Reed vs. Rusev?, and Seth Rollins vs. Ilja Dragunov? Stuff like that. The rest of the matches on the show were passable and enjoyable for my liking. Dominik Mysterio vs. Rusev was my Match of the Night. I was so entertained from start to finish.
The September 29th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — My favorite match from the night, hands down, was so enjoyable. Dominik Mysterio played his role so well as he was the chicken-shit heel who would do anything to win. Rusev, who was also a heel, was tired of the game and was throwing Dominik Mysterio like a rag doll and was having his way with him. This match was electric, and the crowd was so into it. I did enjoy the performance by Rusev. Dominik Mysterio had so many chances to try to take down Rusev, and he tried, but it wasn't working. I had Rusev winning the title, but I guess not, because Dominik Mysterio tried to pull an Eddie Guerrero, which failed because the referee didn't buy it. But he gave a low-blow kick to Rusev as he retained his WWE Intercontinental Title. This feud is not over, but I have a feeling that Rusev will eventually win the title, which will lead to a return of Ilja Dragunov.
The 2nd Match: Raquel Rodriguez (with Roxanne Perez) vs. Bayley in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — A very decent match. Raquel Rodriguez has been shockingly becoming one of the people I enjoy seeing wrestle weekly. She has changed her style and has been enjoyable to watch. Bayley has been going through her phases and fighting with herself as she lost this match against Raquel Rodriguez. One thing I'll say, Raquel Rodriguez has been booked very strongly and hasn't really looked weak whatsoever. But Lyra Valkyria came and made the save, and Batyley was her Heel Gimmick and gave props to Lyra Valkyria after she made the save. I feel like this is leading to a tag team, which is fine, gives something for both women, but I do enjoy this Bayley split personality story.
The 3rd Match: LA Knight vs. Kofi Kingston (with Xavier Woods) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — LA Knight had a fresh opponent, finally, as he took on Kofi Kingston. LA Knight took a detour as he had been having a problem with Jey Uso, who had been going through a phase as he had been morphing into 2020 Roman Reigns. This match came to be after Kofi Kingston confronted LA Knight while he was talking to General Manager Adam Pearce, as he had been having issues with the Usos. Kofi Kingston looked solid in this match, but a BFT helped LA Knight get the win. This was fresh and new and not repetitive. More of this, and stop having the same boring booking.
The 4th Match: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Los Americanos (Bravo Americano & Rayo Americano) (with El Grande Americano) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a fun little match. The promos before the match were cool as AJ Styles said, "Beat up John Cena." The Los Americanos came out as Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano, who were attended by El Grande Americano, looked pretty solid. I have never seen these guys before. They remind me of a team called New Catch Republic. But Pete Dunne and Tyler Batye being back in some capacity is great. I missed watching them both, and the team of AJ Styles and Dragon Lee again rocked, I believe, a month ago, and they got the win. AJ Styles gets a much-needed win, and the same for Dragon Lee, as he needs to focus on his AAA Mega Title Match at next month's Triple A Event. But Bravo AMericano and Rayo Americano are going to be a fun duo. I really hope the payoff is a new Imperium with Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, Pete Dunne, and Tyler Bate.
The Main Event Match: The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) vs. The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed) (with Paul Heyman) in a Tornado Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — The Vision and The Usos, the Wrestlepalooza Rematch, as we saw this be a Tornado Tag Team Match, which is cool and all, but I'm tired of the same damn formula. The match was okay. I thought the in-ring action was fine, and the return of Roman Reigns. Why does it have to always be the Vision this and that with an outdated storyline lore for the Bloodline as Roman Reigns returns to help out the Usos, then talks to Jey Uso. It seems like he has been corrupting him with Jimmy Uso, looking dazed and confused. Please have the women end the show, and where was Stephanie Vaquer? I'm tired of The Vision, and I'm tired of the same matches. Change it up. The rest of the card was fun, and this is just lazy, boring ass booking.
The September 29th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — A very fun and chaotic opener filled with funny spots, and dirty tactics as Dirty Dom retained his WWE Intercontinental Title from Rusev.
The September 29th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 7.25/10 (B-) — This was a very fine episode, not like last week’s episode, but this was very much passable. I enjoyed the majority of the matches as the Main Event is just lazy booking, need to switch it up. Last week was a good example of why to revert to the boring Vision stuff? But next week, RAW, we see CM Punk return and much more, so I’m excited for next week, but it was an overall decent episode of Monday Night RAW.
Next Week WWE Monday Night RAW October 6th Episode — The Announced Matches & Segments for Next Week:
