My Thoughts on the September 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Thoughts: It comes to a point where you have to sit down and think about what has happened with the quality of Monday Night RAW. It's like they got super lazy after SummerSlam. There were two solid episodes, then a bunch of mediocre episodes without any substance added to the show. It's like, why are we continuing the same Main Event Angle every week? We had some solid matches. The first two matches were enjoyable. AJ Styles cut a work shoot promo and proceeded to win with help from Dragon Lee, as he took out El Grande Americano III in Pete Dunne. Lyra Valkyria and Raquel Rodriguez had the best match of the night, as Raquel Rodriguez is a beast. She's so good now, she took the advice and changed for the better. AJ Lee had a great promo pointing out Mental Health, and having therapy, and it was made official for Wrestlepalooza as the Mixed Tag Team Match with Becky KLync and Seth Rollins take on AJ Lee and CM Punk. One of the matches I got so excited for was Penta vs. Rusev, but it was a letdown because of the New Day ruining Penta's chance of winning as Rusev got the win, and it seems like heading towards the WWE Intercontinental Title. Bayley's segments have been interesting, a little shift in her character, and I wonder what she will be like. I do love women's storylines; they have been the best part of the show. I love how much the Asuka story is being told. Niki Bella took on Asuka in a very average match as Asuka got the win, and drama continues with Rhea Ripley and Asuka as Rhea Ripley confronted Asuka once again, which continues to build towards the Asuka heel turn. The Main Event was awful, the same rinse and repeat garbage as the Vision wins, and the beatdown happens as Jey Uso whio we thought left savbed Jimmy Uso, and LA Knight then proceeded to superkick LA Knight as a darker side to his character is coming out again. WWE needs a reset. A WWE Draft apparently got shelved, which makes no sense as both shows need some resetting. Triple H's booking has been mediocre this year, and he needs the WWE Draft to come soon.
The September 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: AJ Styles vs. El Grande Americano in a Singles Match | The Match Rating — ***.50 — What a fun little opener between AJ Styles and Ludwig Kaiser as he continues to deal with the many El Grande Americanos. But before the match, AJ Styles cut a work shoot promo on Triple H, it seems like he feels like someone doesn't want him here anymore, hoping they're going deeper with that because it seems very interesting. But this match started hot as AJ Styles got right at El Grande Amerciano and was throwing him around like a rag-doll. The in-ring action was swell; it wasn't anything special, but it was still enjoyable as El Grande Americano tried to break down AJ Styles. As things got more heated. Pete Dunne dressed up as El Grande Americano III. He tried to help out, but it backfired as Dragon Lee came and helped out, taking out Pete Dunne with a Hurricanrana. AJ Styles got the upper hand and got the much-needed win.
The 2nd Match: Raquel Rodriguez (with Roxanne Perez) vs. Lyra Valkyria in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — Raquel Rodriguez, since June, has been awesome. She has tapped into that different style of wrestling thanks to Kevin Nash and The Undertaker, who advised her. But this was sick; there were many moments. Lyra Valkryia's back wrestling is needed because she is one of the bright spots of RAW for me. When Lyra Valkyria tried to set up the powerbomb and kept trying, that was such a cool moment. Roxanne Perez tried to help out, but it didn't work. Raquel Rodriguez got the upper hand and won. I actually thought Lyra Valkyria was going to win, but it seems like this feud is fresh for Lyra Valkyria, and I hope we get her and Roxanne Perez soon. I loved their feud from NXT.
The 3rd Match: Rusev vs. Penta in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — I was so excited for this match, but it was a let-down, mainly because the New Day came out and used their tactics to help Rusev get the upper hand. But it started very well, like I thought the action was fine, and I thought Rusev was going to get this win to continue to build, but this was a very short match because this match should have been 14-16 Minutes long. But I seem like Dominik Mysterio now has someone coming for him in Rusev, it seems like, unless AJ Styles still continues his pursuit to get the WWE Intercontinental Title.
The 4th Match: Asuka (with Kairi Sane) vs. Nikki Bella in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — Probably Nikki Bella's best performance since returning, even though this match was very mediocre. Asuka has been a control freak and has been trying to control IYO SKY and Kairi Sane lately, and is slowly turning heel. She has been a big factor on RAW weekly, which I love because she's amazing. But this match was carried by Asuka, and Asuka got the win, and she continues her madness against everybody she encounters.
The Main Event Match: Bronson Reed (with Bron Breakker) vs. LA Knight in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *.75 — Rinse and Repeat. I'm so tired of these different variations of the Vision taking on Jey Uso and LA Knight. We need to switch it up. This match sucked. It wasn't good, and I like both men in this match; they are very talented and entertaining. But what are we doing? Can we have some new opponents for the Vision? Can we have new, fresh stories now, LA Knight stuck in the Vision Vortex? I'm not trying to sound harsh, but it gets to a point where every week it's the same result with a beatdown and a save by someone. Jey Uso spears LA Knight to close the show as he is shifting to. A more vicious side. He's starting to turn into Roman Reigns, which is interesting, something fresh for Jey Uso, but this sucks. Please, next week, switch it up. It gets to a point where everything looks lazy when you have one of the best rosters assembled in wrestling.
The September 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Match of the Night: Raquel Rodriguez (with Roxanne Perez) vs. Lyra Valkyria in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25
The September 8th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW — The Episode Grade: 5.25/10 (C) — Uninspiring television. Outside of the first two matches, and the AJ Lee Segment. This show was very much a let-down with careless and uninspiring writing. I didn’t think after SummerSlam the product could get more boring and lifeless, but it did. What they need is a WWE Draft, which is what is going to bring WWE to have fresh ideas and make the direction go upward, but this product is boring, and the writing is piss-poor.
