Thoughts on the September 16th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:
Thoughts: One of the best RAW’s of this year very good show from top to bottom. To kick things off in Portland, Oregon we had CM Punk come out and address Drew McIntyre and basically saying he’s gonna make him bleed at Bad Blood in that Hell in a Cell Match. Pete Dunne prevails with a victory over his former mentor with a little weapon - play being a factor why he got the victory I expect this feud to end in a Donnybrook Match in a couple weeks hopefully at a Premium Live Event. Natalya continues to get a hot hand against Pure Fusion Collective as she got the roll up victory over Zoey Stark. Bron Breakker and Jey Uso faced off and tensions were there. Bron Breakker got a cheap shot in which allowed Jey Uso to get a spear to be the man held high. The Judgement Day finally defended their championships in a match against The New Day they prevailed as the referee was distracted with the outside chaos. Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods seem to not be on the same page as fractures in The New Day are growing. Bronson Reed & Braun Strowman broke parts of the ring, and destroyed the backstage area. Iyo Sky & Bianca Belair dished it out in the Match of the Night for me as both ladies tore it up and killed it. Iyo Sky got the victory which is gonna lead to in the future Damage CTRL members Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane against Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. The Main Event was chaos as Judgement Day after match attacked Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley which allowed Jey Uso to come out but halted by Bron Breakker. Overall amazing show please keep the three hour format when transitioning to Netflix.
The September 16th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Pete Dunne vs. Sheamus - Match Rating: **** - A fun opener to start off RAW. Pete Dunne & Sheamus have great chemistry with one another, I thought this was a great showing for Pete Dunne to continue to establish him as a threat on RAW, and get with the crowd. The crowd were chanting Butch as that was Pete Dunne old persona before reverting back to Pete Dunne. But Sheamus almost got the upper hand as he stopped Pete Dunne from using a weapon but then Pete Dunne while the referee was talking to Sheamus nailed Sheamus in the head with a different weapon and hit a modified kick for the win. Now the feud is tied 1-1 I expect them to end it in a Donnybrook Match to end the feud in the next coming weeks.
2nd Match: Natalya (with Lyra Valkryia) vs. Zoey Stark (with Shayna Baszler & Sonya Deville) - Match Rating: N/A - An okay match. Natalya continues having the hot hand as she picked up her 2nd victory against The Pure Fusion Collective. Im expecting a huge stipulation match with members being involved maybe WarGames with Pure Fusion with Liv, and Natalya, Lyra, and Zelina with Rhea.
3rd Match: The Judgement Day (Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh) (c) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) for the WWE World Tag Team Championships - Match Rating: N/A - This match could’ve been a lot better but they really focus on the dysfunction that’s going on with The New Day as Xavier Woods would’ve won the titles if Kofi Kingston didn’t go to the outside and cause chaos. The Judgement Day retained in their first title defense. Tension boiled after the match with Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods fractures in The New Day is evident. What will happen next with the two men?
4th Match: Iyo Sky (with Kairi Sane) vs. Bianca Belair (with Jade Cargill) - Match Rating: ****.25 - What an amazing match, I love when these two go at it because there chemistry with each other is amazing they always know how to put on a great match against each other. Bianca Belair & Iyo Sky showed in this match why they're both of the best women's wrestlers in the world today. I was very surprised that Iyo Sky got the victory but I think its gonna lead to a Damage CTRL vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill Tag Team Match in the near future for the titles. But amazing match please run this back again.
The Main Event Match: Damian Priest (with Rhea Ripley) vs. Dominik Mysterio (with Carlito, Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh, and Liv Morgan) - Match Rating: *** - A decent main event. Damian Priest gains more momentum and defeats his former stablemate in the Main Event. After the match The Judgement ambushed Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley which allowed Jey Uso to come out before getting speared into oblivion by Bron Breakker.
The September 16th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW Match of the Night: Iyo Sky (with Kairi Sane) vs. Bianca Belair (with Jade Cargill) - Match Rating: ****.25
September 16th, Edition of WWE Monday Night RAW Show Grade: 9/10 (A-) - A very great RAW from top to bottom this was probably a Top Five RAW of this year. I think Triple H has been well with the three hour format hopefully once they transition to Netflix it goes back to that format.
