My Thoughts on the WWE Premium Live Event — WWE No Mercy

My Thoughts: This was a very fun event. NXT PLE's there hasn't been a bad one at all this year. Which is funny because the weekly shows are mediocre to average, then they shine on the PLE Stage. Probably all of the matches were entertaining for me as the show didn't lack in any areas in my opinion. What makes me enjoy NXT, too, is the stipulation matches; they will try anything and everything to make the shows fun, and they do that by putting some of the wildest matches in WWE. HBK did it again, and now NXT shifts towards an Invasion as NXT vs. TNA is the next big thing for NXT. But very fun PLE and Halloween Havoc, I bet will deliver as the streak of NXT PLE being good will continue.

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE No Mercy — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Josh Briggs in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — A very fun, hard-hitting opener with Je'Von Evan's goal to take down Josh Briggs. Je'Von Evans was flying around everywhere in this match. He wasn't slowing down one bit at all. Josh Briggs tried to neutralize him on many occasions, but it wasn't enough. Je'Von Evans got his win back against Josh Briggs, and I'm very happy for Je'Von Evans, just a day before he faced Sami Zayn for the WWE United States Title. Now he's facing Leon Slater in a few weeks at TNA Bound for Glory for the TNA X-Division Championship. He has a lot on his plate these next few weeks as the Young OG continues to shine.

The 2nd Match: Sol Ruca (with Zaria) (c) vs. Jaida Parker in a WWE Women’s Speed Title Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a typical Speed Match. I don’t know why Jaida Parker was picked because she doesn’t fit the Speed Matches because of how fast-paced they are, as her style isn’t fast, but Sol Ruca got the win over Jaida Parker and is still the WWE Women’s Speed Champion.

The 3rd Match: Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — Mariah May has been flawless since arriving at WWE. She already has two great matches under her belt against Jordynne Grace, and this weaponized Steel Cage Match was one of the matches I was very much excited for, as we were going to see some brutal, hard-hitting, and vicious spots, which we did. Blake Monroe was doing everything she could to go 2-0 against Jordynne Grace, but Jordynne Grace wasn't budging one bit. Blake Monroe cut the hair of Jordynne Grace and proceeded to handcuff her to the ropes as well. But the ending of the match was fun as Jordynne Grace got the win, and I don't think this feud is over as it's 1-1, a rubber match is definitely on the horizon, and I expect that to be Jordynne Grace's final match in NXT before she moves up to the Main Roster.

The 4th Match: Ethan Page (c) vs. Tavion Heights in a WWE NXT North American Title Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — Not happy with who won, as I thought this was the right time for Tavion Heights to become champion, but it seems like Ethan Page will be staying in NXT for a little more now, as he is expected to feud with El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., as they teased that on the recent NXT Episode. Tavion Heights looked solid in this match, and I thought there was a moment he was about to win, but Ethan Page got the win and retained his WWE NXT North American Title.

The 5th Match: Jacy Jayne (with Fallon Henley) (c) vs. Lola Vice in a WWE NXT Women’s Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — This was a very solid title defense as Lola Vice was trying to become the next WWE NXT Women's Champion as she took on Jacy Jayne. The match wasn't bad; it had a good stretch during the 2nd Half of the match. Lainey Reid helped out Jacy Jayne, as it has been rumored she was replacing Jazmyn Nyx's spot in Fatal Influence, and I think that's one hell of an addition to the stable, as she has a lot of potenial to be something in WWE. But very unfortunate for Lola Vice, her feud seems to continue against Fatal Influence with Lainey Reid under the mask, making the assist for Jacy Jayne to retain her WWE NXT Women's Title.

The Main Event Match: Ricky Saints vs. Oba Femi (c) in a WWE NXT Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a very solid ending to No Mercy, as throughout the show, no title changes have happened until this point, and man, Ricky Saints, what a moment for him, as he deserves this. I wanted Je'Von Evans to be the one, but we have a whole decade to explore the story of Je'Von Evans and Oba Femi. But Ricky Saints has finally got a World Title, and he's on the King of the Mountain in NXT as he's now the new NXT World Champion. Now I expect Oba Femi to be pushed to the Main Roster soon, and I can see him dismantle Sami Zayn and become the WWE United States Champion.

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE No Mercy —  The Match of the Night: Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match | The Match Rating: ****.50

WWE Premium Live Event | WWE No Mercy — The Event Grade: 8.25/10 (B+) —  This was a very enjoyable event. There hasn’t been a single bad NXT PLE this year. Interestingly, the weekly shows often range from mediocre to average, but the roster truly shines on the PLE stage. I found almost all the matches entertaining, as the show didn’t fall short in any area, in my opinion. I especially appreciate NXT’s stipulation matches; they’re willing to try anything to make the shows exciting, often delivering some of the wildest matches in WWE. HBK pulled it off again, and now NXT is heading into an invasion angle with NXT vs. TNA as the next big thing. Overall, this was a very fun PLE, and I expect Halloween Havoc will keep the streak of great NXT events going.
