The crowd in Boston stayed energetic throughout the entire broadcast, especially during the AEW International Title Match. Storyline-wise, the show did a strong job of building momentum toward next week’s Dynamite in Nashville, Tennessee. Overall, this episode balanced in-ring action and narrative progression in a way that should keep both casual and hardcore fans invested.

My Official Match Ratings for the July 14th WWE NXT Episode:

The Opening Match: The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (with Jackson Drake & Myka Lockwood) (c) vs. Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a very fun opener. I have to say this tag team of Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy adds an ultra boost to the NXT Male Tag Team Division. I thought this was fast-paced and provided us with a glimpse of the future of the WWE Main Roster Tag Division with Vanity Project. If WWE Main Roster fails to book them, I genuinely will have no hope, because I thought the Creed Brothers were next up. Still, Triple H stopped caring about them, but this was fun, a great match, and I love how the NXT Tag Division is shaping up to be a strong point for this brand.

The 2nd Match: Naraku vs. Tate Wilder in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — This was an average match, and mind you, Tate Wilder in kayfabe I respect the fact he's going in the deep end, but man, he hasn't even sniffed a win yet. Naraku needed this win, as next week on NXT we're getting a Street Fight against Tony D'Angelo for the WWE NXT Title; this is where I assume that Hiromu Takahashi will debut for WWE. But this match was average. Tate Wilder, please, for once, fight someone at your wrestling level.

The 3rd Match: Zaria (c) vs. Izzi Dame vs. Lizzy Rain vs. Nikkita Lyons in a WWE NXT Women’s North American Title Fatal-Four Way Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — I really wanted to see Layla Diggs against Zaria. I thought that would be a heel match, but she sustained an injury at an NXT Live Event, so wishing her a speedy recovery. But this match was a lot of fun. We saw Jaida Parker come out and fight Nattie at the ringside, and in the end, we had Zaria retaining her WWE NXT Women's North American Championship.

The 4th Match: Jackson Drake (with Brad Baylor, Myka Lockwood & Ricky Smokes) vs. Tavion Heights | The Match Rating: ***.25 — Jackson Drake and Tavion Heights had a very fun match, in my opinion. I think Tavion Heights is someone who I’ve been high on; he is a prospect in WWE I wish could be booked better because the potential he has as a wrestler is very good, and I believe he can deliver at the Main Roster Level eventually. But I do believe this was a very solid match. I didn't agree with Jackson Drake getting the win. I think Tavion Heights needs it more because he did come off of a loss for the WWE NXT North American Championship, but other than that very fun match with two wrestlers I expect to be good for the WWE for the next decades.

The Main Event Match: Lola Vice vs. Kali Armstrong vs. Kelani Jordan in a WWE NXT Women’s Title No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — I wanted Kelani Jordan to win this because she is the most deserving one in this match. Lola Vice is on her way to the Main Roster and is one of the Faces of AAA in the Women's Division. Kali Armstrong, already touted as the next superstar for WWE, has won the EVOLVE Women's Title and is now being strapped with the rocket to be one of the next faces of the NXT Women's Division. Kelani Jordan has been feuding with people left and right, but she needed this. I know she would've probably lost to Kendal Grey, but I thought this match was fun. I didn't agree because Lola Vice already is tabbed for the Main Roster in the coming months, so I just think it would've been better if Kelani Jordan would've gotten the opportunity.

My Official Match of the Night for the July 14th Episode of WWE NXT: The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (with Jackson Drake & Myka Lockwood) (c) vs. Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was a fun opener. Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy boost NXT’s Male Tag Team Division. It was fast-paced and gave a glimpse of WWE Main Roster’s future with Vanity Project. If WWE fails to book them, I will lose hope since I thought the Creed Brothers were next. Triple H has stopped caring about them, but this was a great match. I love how the NXT Tag Division is shaping up as a strong point for the brand.

My July 14th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 7/10 (B-) — This was a very strong episode again, with the in-ring product probably being the best in WWE. NXT has been very consistent, same with AAA. NXT has been the best WWE weekly show, and having great PLE's because of the matches that are being on display, something the Main Roster has been lacking, so NXT's rebuild of the roster has been great, as the new stars are emerging, and we're having matches we want to see on the Main Roster.
