My Official Thoughts on the July 7th Episode of WWE NXT:

My Official Thoughts: What a great episode of NXT. From beginning to end, I thought this was one of the strongest in-ring episodes the brand has produced in a very long time. Every major match felt like it had something to prove, and the wrestlers absolutely delivered.

The Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match was fast-paced, creative, and showcased just how deep the tag team division is becoming. The Fatal Four-Way Women's Match was another highlight of the night, with everyone getting a chance to shine while proving once again that NXT continues to have one of the best women's divisions in all of wrestling. The main event was also excellent and capped off the show perfectly, leaving me excited for what's next. What's even more impressive is that this episode was pre-taped. Sometimes pre-taped shows can feel flat, but this one had great energy throughout the entire night. The crowd was into everything, the pacing was strong, and every match felt important. It never felt like the show dragged, which made it an easy watch from start to finish. Looking ahead, next week's NXT already looks like another stacked episode. If it delivers the way this one did, NXT could be putting together one of its strongest stretches of television in quite some time. The consistency has been getting better, and episodes like this remind everyone why NXT remains such an important part of WWE's future. This episode honestly got me even more excited for the future of WWE. The amount of talent they have developing through both EVOLVE and NXT is incredible. The men's division is loaded with future stars, and the women's division continues to be one of the deepest and most talented rosters anywhere in professional wrestling. You can clearly see that WWE is investing in building the next generation, and it's paying off. If this is what the future looks like, WWE is in a fantastic position for years to come. Between the incredible athleticism, the character development, and the number of young stars continuing to improve every week, the future of the company looks extremely bright. This episode reminded me why I'm so excited to watch NXT every week, and I can't wait to see what these talented men and women accomplish as they continue their journey toward becoming WWE's next generation of main-event stars.

My Official Match Ratings for the July 7th WWE NXT Episode:

The Opening Match: Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy vs. DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin) vs. BirthRight (Channing Lorenzo & Uriah Connors) (with Arianna Grace, Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title No. 1 Contender’s Fatal-Four Way Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Amazing Fatal-Four Way Tag Team No. 1 Contender's Match. Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy getting the win and securing a future WWE NXT Tag Team Title shot, which is happening next week against The Vanity Project. I do believe we could see new Tag Team Champions next week. I did think BirthRight, DarkState & OTM were solid in this match, but I'm happy with who came out as the winner in this match. I do think this win for Dorian Van Dux & Sean Legacy was great, because I really want them to be the next WWE NXT Tag Team Champions next week on the July 14th Episode of NXT.

The 2nd Match: Keanu Carver vs. Tank Ledger in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Keanu Carver is in the midst of a two match losing streak, as he lost to EK Prosper twice in back-to-back weeks but now he has to deal with Tank Ledger as he took out his partner Hank Walker, this match was basically in my eyes a squash, because Keanu Carver did what he had to do, and proceeded to get the win. I do hope Keanu Carver starts to be involved in title scenes soon because I think it’s time to see if he can sink or swim at the top of NXT.

The 3rd Match: Layla Diggs vs. Izzi Dame vs. Lizzy Rain vs. Thea Hail in a WWE NXT Women’s North American Title No. 1 Contender’s Fatal-Four Way Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — This was a rocking match; the women tonight showed out like they usually do, and the development of these four shows how the Performance Center is allowing these women to grow because the Women Prospects lap the Male Prospects by miles. Layla Diggs looked great; Lizzy Rain, who I know had prior wrestling experience in the Independents, looked great; Izzi Dame & Thea Hail were solid. This was a lot of fun. Layla Diggs getting the win was a surprise, as she's currently aligned with Nattie, who has a little group, and next week she'll have her shot against Zaria for the WWE NXT Women's North American Championship.

The 4th Match: Niko Vance (with Izzi Dame) vs. Shiloh Hill in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This match was just something, Shiloh Hill loses because Tristan Angels stole his tooth yes you read that right, which allowed Niko Vance to get the win, afterwards Shawn Spears unloaded a chair shot to Niko Vance as the The Culling vs. Shawn Spears feud has begun. I’m not interested in the feud by any means, but I guess maybe it can help Niko Vance in the long run?

The Main Event Match: Kendal Grey (with Wren Sinclair) (c) vs. Nattie (with Karmen Petrovic & Nikkita Lyons) in a WWE NXT Women’s Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — What a great way to start a title reign as Kendal Grey takes on a former WWE Women's Champion and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, also a future Hall of Famer, and has created a lot of the newer stars due to her amazing training in The Dungeon. Kendal Grey having this match benefits her a lot because Nattie really was doing her thing in this match. I thoroughly enjoyed this match. I did like how the match ended with Kendal Grey coming out with the win and retaining her WWE NXT Women's Championship. Now this was a great start for Kendal Grey’s reign, and quite excited to see who her next oppenent is could be: Lola Vice, the young rising star of Kali Armstrong, or Kelani Jordan, who I believe should've been WWE NXT Women's Champion in the past, but next week we'll figure out the next challenger for Kendal Grey's WWE NXT Women's Title.

My Official Match of the Night for the July 7th Episode of WWE NXT: Kendal Grey (with Wren Sinclair) (c) vs. Nattie (with Karmen Petrovic & Nikkita Lyons) in a WWE NXT Women’s Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.25 — A great way for Kendal Grey to start her title reign. Facing a former WWE Women's Champion, WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, future Hall of Famer, and one of the best trainers from The Dungeon gave her a huge spotlight. Nattie looked great, and I really enjoyed the match. Kendal retaining the WWE NXT Women's Championship was the right call, and I'm excited to see if her next challenger is Lola Vice, Kali Armstrong, or Kelani Jordan.

My July 7th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 8.25/10 (B+) — A great episode of NXT. The in-ring action was outstanding from top to bottom. The Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match, the Fatal Four-Way Women's Match, and the main event all delivered. This was arguably NXT's strongest in-ring episode in a very long time. It's even more impressive knowing this episode was pre-taped. The entire roster brought their best, and next week's show already looks like it has the potential to be another great episode. More than anything, this episode got me excited about the future of WWE. The amount of incredible male and female talent coming through the EVOLVE and NXT system is remarkable, and the future looks incredibly bright.
