My Official Thoughts on the June 30th Episode of WWE NXT:
My Official Thoughts: A very decent episode of NXT. I did enjoy Jackson Drake and Mason Rook, as this is one of the strong points from this episode; same with Nikki Blackheart's arrival to NXT, as she attacked Tatum Paxley to make her statement. But NXT is doing fine in my opinion this year, as I feel like they have been positioning the newer NXT Talent well, and we know who is going to be a big deal in NXT for the next one to two years now as they needed this rebuilding, as we see a lot of talents rising, and creating their names here so the future is exicitng, and this episode showed that.
My Official Match Ratings for the June 30th WWE NXT Episode:
The Opening Match: The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (with Jackson Drake & Myka Lockwood) (c) vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This match was very decent good to see El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno on NXT TV challenging for the WWE NXT Tag Team Title against the champions Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes of Vanity Project. Galeno really shined in this match offensively, and I liked how Dr. Wagner Jr. was in this match; this was very fun, like seeing the AAA Roster being used on WWE TV, because they do have an underrated roster that's getting built. But in the end, Vanity Project retained as they contiune there very underrated reign as the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions.
The 2nd Match: Jackson Drake (with Brad Baylor, Myka Lockwood & Ricky Smokes) vs. Mason Rook in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — An awesome match between two wrestlers I believe will be stars in WWE for a very long time, especially Jackson Drake; he gives you everything you want in a wrestler. Mason Rook was awesome in this match; he's one of my favorites within NXT, and I do truly believe that one day he'll be WWE NXT Champion, same with Jackson Drake. Was quite surprised by the results as Mason Rook suffered the loss to Jackson Drake, but in the end. This was a very fun match, but I don't think this feud is over just yet.
The 3rd Match: EK Prosper vs. Keanu Carver in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: *** — I was excited for El Hijo del Vikingo against EK Prosper for the AAA Latin American Title, but hearing that he got hurt before the show sucked because I know both men would've given a great match against each other. But we got a rematch from last week as Keanu Carver took on EK Prosper once again, and shocking results happened again as EK Prosper got the win once again over Keanu Carver, which makes him 2-0 against Keanu Carver, which is very unexpected to me. EK Prosper getting the win makes me much more confident that we'll see him win Singles Gold very soon, because it seems like HBK is very much behind him, which makes me excited for his future in NXT.
The 4th Match: Jaida Parker vs. Karmen Petrovic (with Layla Diggs & Nikkita Lyons) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Jaida Parker has a lot of odds against her, as she has no one, and she took on Karmen Petrovic, who has been on EVOLVE, now back on NXT TV, and AAA TV. But she suffered the loss against Jaida Parker, who got the much-needed win, but this is far from over against Nattie.
The Main Event Match: Kelani Jordan vs. Tatum Paxley in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — A very solid Main Event. Kelani Jordan getting the win is good because we all know Tatum Paxley is on her way out of NXT as she's putting some people over before she heads to the Main Roster. But this match was very solid; I liked the in-ring action and thought the match was strong. Afterwards, we saw Nikki Blackheart make her debut on WWE TV as she attacked Tatum Paxley, as I believe this is going to be Tatum Paxley’s final official feud in NXT, as she will seemingly put over Nikki Blackheart before she exits NXT for RAW or SmackDown.
My Match of the Night for June 30th WWE NXT: Jackson Drake (with Brad Baylor, Myka Lockwood & Ricky Smokes) vs. Mason Rook | The Match Rating: ***.75 — A great match between future stars, especially Jackson Drake, who has all the qualities of a top wrestler. Mason Rook was excellent; I believe he'll be WWE NXT Champion someday, along with Drake. I was surprised Rook lost to Drake, but this was a fun match. The feud isn't over yet.
My June 30th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 7/10 (B-) — A solid episode of NXT. I enjoyed Jackson Drake vs. Mason Rook, which was one of the episode’s strongest points, along with Nikki Blackheart’s arrival as she attacked Tatum Paxley to make a statement. Overall, NXT has been doing well this year, especially with how they’ve positioned newer talent. The future feels exciting, and this episode helped show that.
