My Official Review of the October 20th Episode of WWE NXT:
My Official Review: A more downer of an episode; nothing eye-popping when it came to the in-ring aspect, as it felt mediocre. There were a few moments that were cool, but as a whole episode, this felt very boring and uninspiring TV.
My Official Match Ratings for the October 20th WWE NXT Episode:
The Opening Match: The Wagner Brothers (El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno) vs. BirthRight (Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King) (with Arianna Grace & Uriah Connors) in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Quarter Final Match | My Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a decent tag team match. This was pronbably the best match of the sho ith the AAA World Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers taking on BirthRight, this had some fun tag team spots but in the end thanks to the help of Zilla Fatu we saw help out the Wagner Brothers as they defeated BirthRight who are in in current issues with Zilla Fatu so that I knew was going to eventually play a factor into this match so solid tag team match and now The Wagner Brothers are onto the Semi Finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament as they will have the former NXT Tag Team Champions Hank And Tank to worry about next week on NXT.
The 2nd Match: Izzi Dame vs. Layla Diggs in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: **.25 — Layla Diggs is getting some time very high on her, Izzi Dame, in the midst of chasing the WWE NXT Women's North American Title, as she has been in a feud with Zaria. But Layla Diggs showed a lot of promise in this match. Izzi Dame has improved a lot this year; I remember when she came to NXT with Kiana James, and even though in the beginning I wasn't high, she has made strides to be better in the ring. This match was okay, but these two have very good upside, and after we saw Zaria at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc, there will be a match between the two, but I believe it's to be non-title, which, if that's the case, then I'll see Izzi Dame potentially getting the win, which leads to a future WWE NXT Women's North American Title Match.
The 3rd Match: Hank And Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) vs. The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed & Julius Creed) in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Quarter Final Match | My Match Rating: *** — A very intense Tag Team Match. Very dumbfounded that The Creed Brothers lost; they were riding a hot wave coming into NXT, which was halted by this loss. As Hank And Tank will face the AAA World Tag Team Title The Wagner Brothers. The Creed Brothers, I don't know what to do from here. I guess they go after the WWE NXT Tag Team Belts, or does WWE not use them? We'll have to find out in the next few weeks.
The Main Event Match: Cruz Montana vs. Dion Lennox in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: N/A — This match was solid, but what I like is that Dion Lennox in this feud has shown more personality than he has had in recent times. Like, I thought the Saquon Shugars feud was decent, but this has opened him up more as a wrestler. Cruz Montana was tired of Dion Lennox and the disrespect he has been showing towards his family, and this ended in a Double Count Out. We saw a wicked side of Cruz Montana as he destroyed Cutler James and Dion Lennox. He was escorted to the back after what happened. This match will most likely have a stipulation in the next match, but this was a very solid post-angle moment.
My Official Match of the Night for the October 20th Episode of WWE NXT: The Wagner Brothers (El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno) vs. BirthRight (Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King) (with Arianna Grace & Uriah Connors) in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Quarter Final Match | My Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a solid tag team match, probably the show’s best. AAA World Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers faced BirthRight in an entertaining bout. Zilla Fatu’s interference helped the Wagners defeat BirthRight, whose ongoing issues with him made his involvement predictable. The Wagner Brothers now advance to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinals, where they’ll face former NXT Tag Team Champions Hank and Tank next week on NXT.
My October 20th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 4/10 (D) — This was a very boring and uneventful episode of NXT. This was a very boring watch, and even rewatching it just felt like one dragging episode that didn’t have any eye-popping moments.
