The Opening Match: The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) (c) [TNA] defeated DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) (c) [NXT] in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title / TNA World Tag Team Title Winner Takes All Match | via Pin-Fall — (10:45) — TITLE CHANGE!!!!


2nd Match: Team NXT (Jacy Jayne, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca) defeated Team TNA (Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, Kelani Jordan & Mara Sade) in a NXT vs. TNA Women’s Survivor Series Style Elimination Match with Special Guest Referee Jordynne Grace | via Pin-Fall — (23:11)

My Thoughts on the October 7th Episode of WWE NXT x TNA Showdown:


My Thoughts: WWE NXT vs. TNA matches, highlighted by The Hardy Boyz capturing both tag titles, Team NXT winning the women's elimination match, Ethan Page retaining the North American Title versus Mustafa Ali, and Team TNA winning the men's elimination bout. Feedback was mixed, with praise for the North American Title match and criticism for weak storytelling and match buildup.


The October 7th Episode of WWE NXT x TNA Showdown — The Match Ratings:


The Opening Match: The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) (c) [TNA] vs. DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) (c) [NXT] in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title / TNA World Tag Team Title Winner Takes All Match | The Match Rating: *.50 — The Hardy Boyz did their thing and weren't bad. Now, for Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin, I would say they were sluggish and had a lot of botches. Osiris Griffin, in this match, had a lot of botches and some moments where I was like What was he doing? Dion Lennox tried his best, but this was easily his worst performance of 2025. This match could've been better if they had Saquon Shugars, who is a hidden gem in NXT. But the Hardy Boyz are now the 4th WWE Team to be Triple Crown Tag Team Champions, holding every tag title in WWE today.


2nd Match: Team NXT (Jacy Jayne, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca) vs. Team TNA (Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, Kelani Jordan & Mara Sade) in a NXT vs. TNA Women’s Survivor Series Style Elimination Match with Special Guest Referee Jordynne Grace | The Match Rating: **.50 — This was a very fine Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Style Match. There were no swerves or turns; it was a very basic match. Jordynne Grace was a fun referee, pulling out a Yellow Card, and had some good moments as the referee. There were some botches in this match mixed in with some sluggish moments. But the ending we saw was Jacy Jayne stealing Sol Ruca's shine and taking the pin and winning, and giving herself the credit, but Team NXT came out on top.


3rd Match: Ethan Page (c) vs. Mustafa Ali in a WWE NXT North American Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — A very stellar match. Mustafa Ali came out to his WWE Theme before it switched to his current TNA Theme. Mustafa Ali had something to prove, as the story he's yelling is about how he was screwed over two years ago. He was supposed to fight for the WWE NXT North American Title, but he was presumably released from WWE. So, he had to conquer the one thing he wanted, and that was the WWE NXT North American Title. Ethan Page, who has been one of the best signings in the 2020s Decade for WWE, needed to shut up Mustafa Ali and not lose his title to a TNA Wrestler. But this match was amazing. Mustafa Ali's quality last year dipped because of injuries plaguing him, but this year, he has been on one. He looked great, he was trying everything he could, but one simple mistake cost him everything, and that was when Booker T's headset wire was caught on Mustafa Ali's boots, which led Ethan Page to shove Mustafa Ali off the top rope, crashing super hard on the outside, and allowed Ethan Page to get the win. I really hope this isn't it for Mustafa Ali. I would love him to chase the WWE NXT North American Title and conquer the curse of not winning a title in WWE. Now, for Ethan Page, next on his list is Triple A's own AAA Latin American Champion, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., who is targeting Ethan Page, which I'm excited about.


The Main Event Match: Team TNA (Frankie Kazarian, Leon Slater, Mike Santana & Moose) vs. Team NXT (Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, Ricky Saints & Trick Williams) in a NXT vs. TNA Men’s Survivor Series Style Elimination Match with Special Guest Referee Joe Hendry | The Match Rating: ***.75 — Team TNA got the last laugh in the night as they won the Main Event as Ricky Saints, who was left standing for dead as Trick Williams turned on Team NXT and walked away in a swerve moment. We saw Mike Santana and Moose standing tall as the last m, members for TNA who didn't get eliminated to get the win. But the match as a whole was okay; it wasn't the greatest, but I did find it quite enjoyable, and Ricky Saints really had the heart as he stayed in it as long as he could before he was dismantled at the end by Mike Santana and Moose.


The October 7th WWE NXT x TNA Showdown — The Match of the Night: Ethan Page (c) vs. Mustafa Ali in a WWE NXT North American Title Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — Mustafa Ali faced Ethan Page in a high-stakes match for the WWE NXT North American Title. Ali, seeking redemption for being released before a previous title shot, performed well but lost after an accident involving Booker T’s headset allowed Page to win. Ethan Page retains his title and will face AAA’s El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. next, while Ali’s quest for WWE gold continues.


The October 7th Edition of WWE NXT x TNA Showdown — The Episode Grade: 5.75/10 (C) — WWE NXT vs. TNA featured highlights such as The Hardy Boyz winning both tag team titles, Team NXT taking the women's elimination match, Ethan Page retaining the North American Title against Mustafa Ali, and Team TNA claiming victory in the men's elimination bout. Feedback was mixed, with the North American Title match receiving praise, while the event faced criticism for weak storytelling and build-up.
