My Official Thoughts on the April 20th Episode of WWE RAW After WrestleMania:
My Official Thoughts: This was a very solid episode of RAW. I really enjoyed the sense that the show is moving in a new direction, with fresh stories starting to take shape. The arrival of new roster members like Ethan Page, Jacob Fatu, The Street Profits, and Sol Ruca adds a lot of energy and variety to the brand. Each of them brings a different style and presence, which makes the overall show feel less predictable and much more exciting week to week. The matches on the card were consistently solid and fun to watch. Nothing felt like filler; everything either advanced a storyline, showcased a new talent, or gave us something memorable in the ring. The pacing of the show was also strong; segments flowed well into one another, and the mix of promos, backstage segments, and in-ring action helped keep the momentum going from start to finish. I especially like that Roman Reigns’ first feud is with Jacob Fatu. That pairing instantly feels big-time and gives RAW a marquee storyline right out of the gate. Fatu comes across as a legitimate threat, and putting him opposite Roman is a bold move that could really elevate him if handled well. I’m very curious to see how their dynamic develops over the next few weeks, both in terms of character work and in-ring confrontations. Overall, this was a strong start coming out of WrestleMania. It feels like WWE is making an effort to refresh RAW and give viewers new reasons to tune in. If they can maintain this level of storytelling, keep featuring these new faces in meaningful ways, and continue to build on the Roman Fatu feud, this could be the beginning of a very promising new chapter for the brand.
The April 20th Episode of WWE RAW After WrestleMania — My Official Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: RHIYO (IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley) vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — A very fun opener, this is the final time for a while we see RHIYO tagging as Rhea Ripley is moving to SmackDown, which is good, no more IYO SKY being a side-character, she can finally be the bad-ass woman we all know her as. But for Asuka & Kairi Sane, the writing on the wall for the pair it seems like sooner than later we'll see Kairi Sane turn on Asuka, and finally be free from the torment and abuse she’s been dealing with from Asuka. But this Tag Team Match was very delightful; the whole episode was a string of solid matches, which I was very happy about. I do like Rhea Ripley on SmackDown. I don't think she has ever been a SmackDown Superstar, so a bunch of fresh feuds and new people she can have stories with on SmackDown.
The 2nd Match: Ethan Page vs. Je’Von Evans in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: ***.50 — Fun Match, they both had fun matches back in NXT, but Ethan Page on RAW kinda being inserted in the WWE Intercontinental Scene is a very smart booking choice, he is a snobby heel who's very unlikeable and will transcend on the Main Roster, I mean the pop he got while being introduced speaks for itself. The match was fun Je'Von Evans was having some solid offense as Ethan Page didn't have a lot to handle it, but what interested me was the ending we saw Rusev try to attack Je'Von Evans which didn't work, but Ethan Page used that to get the win afterwards Rusev attacked Je'Von Evans, Penta made the save but Ethan Page attacked Penta which helped Rusev attack Penta, and grab the WWE Intercontinental Title, and putting it on his shoulder. Finally, Rusev has something notable to do. Glad they're making him look strong, a Four-Way Match at Backlash for the WWE Intercontinental Title wouldn't sound bad at all. I’m hoping that's where the direction is heading.
The 3rd Match: Liv Morgan (with Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs. Sol Ruca in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — A very well-done debut of Sol Ruca on Monday Night RAW as she is officially part of the Monday Night RAW Roster, and what a way to start her Main Roster debut as she faced the WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan, in a very solid match this match alone was longer than Liv Morgan WrestleMania Title Match against Stephanie Vaquer, my worry in this match is how they'll protect Sol Ruca as she can't lose clean in her debut and the way they did it was very smart and effective as it added more to the feud between her and Zaria as Zaria dismantled Sol Ruca laying her out helping Liv Morgan pick up the win but I must say this was a great first match on the Main Roster for Sol Ruca who in the future will step toe-to-toe again with Liv Morgan hopefullty with the WWE Women's World Title being involved in the picture.
The Main Event Match: Finn Bálor vs. JD McDonagh in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — This match could've been used of more time because it was really starting to get good as JD McDonagh who was once Finn Bálor student, and best friend turned on him last month, I liked how throughout the episode they both had promos on each other it added more importance to this Main Event Match, as both men have significant imporatnce to one another life but. lot of things changed during their time in the Judgement Day the match didn't start as both men brawled threough the crowd buyt once the match started it was pretty fun, I like the action we had in the ring, also Finn Bálor looks so much tyounger, and the trunks are back very happy his sick presentation is back, as he got the win, but afterwards Dominik Mysterio attacked. I was quite upset. I would've hoped this feud ended with the Alter Ego of Bálor's coming out, but they will continue. I hope it ends because I want Finn Bálor to have a fun babyface run again, and hopefully be in important stories once again in the Main Event.
The April 20th Episode of WWE RAW After WrestleMania — My Official Match of the Night: Liv Morgan (with Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs. Sol Ruca in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — Sol Ruca had a very impressive debut on Monday Night RAW, officially joining the RAW roster. She kicked off her main roster run by facing WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a strong, competitive match that actually went longer than Liv’s WrestleMania title bout against Stephanie Vaquer. My main concern going in was how they’d protect Sol Ruca, since she really couldn’t afford a clean loss in her debut. The finish they chose was smart and effective: Zaria attacked and dismantled Sol Ruca, leaving her laid out and allowing Liv Morgan to pick up the win. It protected Sol, advanced the feud between her and Zaria, and still gave Liv the victory. Overall, this was an excellent first main roster match for Sol Ruca, and it feels like only a matter of time before she stands toe-to-toe with Liv Morgan again, hopefully with the WWE Women’s World Championship on the line.
The April 20th Episode of WWE RAW After WrestleMania — My Official Episode Grade: 7.25/10 (B) — This was a very solid episode of RAW. I liked the new, fresh stories, and new roster members with Ethan Page, Jacob Fatu, The Street Profits & Sol Ruca add a lot of freshness to this brand. The matches on the show were solid and fun to watch. I like that Roman Reigns’ first feud is with Jacob Fatu. I would like to see where that goes, but a strong start after WrestleMania, hopefully, WWE keeps that up.
