The December 13th Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event: John Cena's Final Match — The Show Rundown:
As a kid, this hurts me writing this, but tonight is the end of one of the greatest wrestling careers of all time. John Cena’s final match is tonight, and Gunther has the privilege of being the last man to step into the squared circle against John Cena. The 17x World Champion, 1x WWE Intercontinental Champion, 5x WWE United States Champion, 4x WWE Tag Team Champion, 1x Money in the Bank Winner, 2x WWE Royal Rumble Winner, 35th Triple Crown Champion, 18th Grand Slam Champion, and the Greatest to Ever do it. We won’t ever see another man like John Cena again. The starpower, the impact he had on little kids, and in general, we won’t see another wrestler like this again. John Cena is not only a wrestler, but he has also granted the most Make-A-Wishes in the world, beloved by many and respected by many. John Cena, after tonight, just remember that every one of us is proud that you were a part of our childhood and adulthood. We love you, John Cena. Thank you for gracing us with 23 years of your Career. Now who’ll win tonight? Will Gunther manage to make John Cena tap, or will John Cena turn back the clock and go Super Cena one last time? If you want some, come get some. Thank you, John Cena, and have a great retirement.
The Ruler is stepping into the ring with the American Nightmare. The WWE Undisputed Champion takes on the WWE NXT Champion as Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi battle it out for the first time on the Night of John Cena’s retirement. Can Oba Femi shock the world and take down the man who’s the Face of the Company, or will Cody Rhodes manage to take down the Ruler and prevail tonight?
Sol Ruca has had an eventful 2025, being a double champion and rising to new heights, but her biggest match to date happens tonight as she faces the 4x WWE Women’s World Champion Bayley in a Future vs. Present Match. This match has a lot of stakes, as this can manage to boost Sol Ruca’s career if she manages to take down one of the best in the business tonight. Can Sol Ruca pull an upset, or will Bayley and her veteran skill manage to get the victory tonight?
Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater have one of the biggest tests of their careers as they face the WWE World Tag Team Champions in AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, but what makes this special is that Leon Slater is the current TNA X-Division Champion, and he is going up against his idol in AJ Styles, the man who made the X-Division what it is today. They had encoynter when AJ Styles made his return to TNA this year and gave Leon Slater one of the biggest endorsements any wrestler can receive, and for Je’Von Evans, he’s going to shine when everyone in the world is watching, and a major moment for Dragon Lee as this would mark his 2nd Time being on a Major Show for WWE. Can Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater shock the world and pin the WWE World Tag Team Champions, or will AJ Styles and Dragon Lee get the upper hand tonight on John Cena’s Final Match Event?
