The January 25th, Edition of WWE Saturday Night Main Event on NBC in San Antonio, Texas Show Preview:
Gunther is set to face Jey Uso as he defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against him. Gunther for the past weeks been tearing into Jey Uso telling him how he feels. But Jey Uso really wants to show the world he can defeat Gunther and become World Champion.
Bron Breakker finally gets to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus as they face off for the 2nd Time as the first time their match ended in a No Contest so this match will have a winner. Sheamus has been on a mission since 2022 to be a WWE Intercontinental Champion as it’s the one title he hasn’t won in WWE. So this is his big oppertunity in San Antonio to finally become the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Jacob Fatu has a Singles Match against Braun Strowman these two heavyweights are set to throw it down in the ring. For weeks Braun Strowman has a bone to pick with The Bloodline especially with Jacob Fatu. This match will be show - stealer as both men are looking to tear each other apart.
Rhea Ripley finally has her first opponent to defend her title against and it’s former 2x Women’s Champion Nia Jax after being blindsided by her before entering the arena Rhea Ripley brawled with Nia Jax after Nia Jax match against Bayley. They had to be separated and these two have plenty of history as in the Main Event of last year’s Elimination Chamber in Australia they faced off.
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will have an important Contract Signing with Shawn Michaels as the Special Guest overseeing the signing. The tension and hatred these men have for each other is evident but the signing needs to happen. Will this be civil or will someone get hurt we’ll see tonight.
