Thoughts on the January 25th, Edition of WWE Saturday Night Main Event:
Thoughts: This was a very enjoyable WWE Saturday's Night Main Event. It was way better than the one that took place last month in December the four matches, and one segment formula was perfect each time had a good amount of time, and each match was enjoyable. Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax had a very fun show opener with Rhea Ripley retaining her title in the process. Bron Breakker and Sheamus had a very entertaining match with Bron Breakker spearing Sheamus in half to retain the title. I did also enjoy the Contract signing having HBK hit a Sweet Chin Music caught me by surprise because I thought Kevin Owens was gonna hit a Package Piledriver on HBK to put him out. Jacob Fatu destroyed Braun Strowman and left him in a bloody mess they made him look like an unbeatable final boss. Gunther ended the show with a great main event match against Jey Uso I thought Jey Uso had the match won towards the end but Gunther bounced back and capture the victory and retained his title. Overall great pacing of the show and four matches was the right amount instead of five matches on the show. But now we're focusing on the Royal Rumble next.
The January 25th, Edition of WWE Saturday Night Main Event Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax for the WWE Women's World Championship - Match Rating: ***.50 - A solid opener to start the show. In my opinion this was a lot better than the Elimination Chamber match back in Australia last year. Rhea Ripley had a solid performance. Her and Nia Jax really do have a solid chemistry in the ring because this match and the last year match were pretty solid. I like how it started off with the head - butt during the introduction by Nia Jax. I do like the fact that now Rhea Ripley can have a fun title reign without the whole Judgement Day Vortex stuff. But other than that solid match too open this old - school style show of WWE Saturday's Night Main Event.
2nd Match: Bron Breakker vs. Sheamus for the WWE Intercontinental Championship - Match Rating: ****.25 - This was a very fun back and forth match. I really wanted Sheamus to get the title but I understand if they were gonna have Sheamus win it will most likely happen at a Big Four PPV as this would be a monumental moment for Sheamus finally getting the title that he needed to be an Grand Slam Champion. The spear on the outside when Bron Breakker caught Sheamus mid - air was so awesome. Sheamus almost got the win but the ref saw that Bron Breakker foot was on the rope which broke the pin. Bron Breakker got the spear and the win to retain. Sheamus this year will win the WWE Intercontinental Championship I just don't know what event he'll win it eventually maybe WrestleMania. I don't this feud between these two is over just yet.
3rd Match: Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu in a Singles Match - Match Rating: N/A - Jacob Fatu was made out to be a monster because in this match he destroyed Braun Strowman. Jacob Fatu really has been established as a future WWE World Champion. He left Braun Strowman in a bloody mess afterwards and medical personal came out to attend Braun Strowman.
The Main Event Match: Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Match Rating: ****.50 - This was an expectional match. I really enjoyed the Main Event of Saturday Night Main Event. Gunther and Jey Uso do have very solid chemistry dating back to last year when Gunther and Jey Uso fought over the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Towards the end I thought Jey Uso had the match won but Gunther kicked out at the last second which had my heart sink because I thought Jey Uso finally did it and was about to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Now that WrestleMania around the corner who's gonna be Gunther feud for the next couple months until WrestleMania?
The January 25th, Edition of WWE Saturday Night Main Event Match of the Night: Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Match Rating: ****.50
