My Thoughts on the May 24th Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event:

My Thoughts: This episode of Saturday Night's Main Event was highly disappointing. Aside from the Tag Team Match, the show really fell short. The women's match was very sloppy, and I think Chelsea Green may have broken her nose during the botched 619 from Zelina Vega. The John Cena match felt pointless. The Steel Cage Match was solid, but the ending ruined it for me; I wish Damian Priest had hit a South of Heaven after executing the chair shot to secure the pinfall win. The Main Event was poorly handled, lacking any significant spots or moments. John Cena attempted to jump Jey Uso, but it didn't work, and Jey Uso retained his title. Before things could get worse, Cody Rhodes made his return and challenged Jey Uso to a tag team match at Money in the Bank, alongside John Cena and Logan Paul. Overall, this was the worst special event produced by Triple H—just terrible, except for the Tag Team Match where Bronson Reed made his return and aligned himself with Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman, and Seth Rollins. That was the only bright spot of the show for me.

The May 24th | Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event | Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Bron Breakker & Seth Rollins (with Paul Heyman) vs. CM Punk & Sami Zayn in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **** | This was a red-hot opener for Saturday Night Main Event. I love that right away, they got everything started as they went, and the brawl started. I love the attire that was worn by CM Punk and Sami Zayn. I loved how everyone was matching. This was such a bad-ass opener of a match. What I loved was that the third member of the Paul Heyman stable was the returning Bronson Reed, that was such a badass moment, I love his decision him join that stable. Overall, a great opener, and I can't wait for Monday Night RAW to see the aftermath. Why did Bronson Reed join a stable where he used to have major issues with Seth Rollins?

2nd Match: Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green (with Alba Frye & Piper Niven) in a Singles Title Match for the WWE Women's United States Championship | Match Rating: * | This match felt very much rushed because it was only given five minutes. Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green at the beginning of the match had some sloppy moments, but the spot on the outside with the powerbomb was a nasty bump. The Secret Hervice was distracted on the outside as Zelina Vega was lining Chelsea Green up on the top rope to end the match, which she did to retain her WWE Women's United States Championship. This match could have been left off the card, but I get why they added it, because of the lack of a women's match, they could have had it so much more time, then it would've been a lot better. Now, Zelina Vega is onto the next challenger, Chelsea Green's chase for the WWE Women's United States Championship is over after getting multiple chances to regain the title she lost. But very lackluster match and highly disappointing. Zelina Vega deserved a longer match to display he underrated talents.

3rd Match: John Cena vs. R-Truth in a Non-Title Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | This was just a little fun squash match. R-Truth came out to John Cena's theme song and attire with his own John Cena shirt with his face on it. The match was just a plain old squash match, and R-Truth had a moment of life in the match before it was squashed by John Cena and was put away by a low blow and Attitude Adjustment from John Cena. After the match, he was cracked across the head by John Cena as he nailed the WWE Championship on his skull to leave the arena to a roar from the crowd.

4th Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest in a Steel Cage Match | Match Rating: ***.75 |

This was one hell of a match to end the feud. It was a slugfest that started red-hot right out of the gate, with hands being thrown. I loved the brutality of this match; they were trying to hurt one another badly. I liked the moment when they slammed each other into the steel cage wall. When Drew McIntyre hit the Claymore, I thought the match was over, but Damian Priest had a near fall. I enjoyed this feud between both men, and I’m glad Damian Priest got the win; this puts him over in a big way. I wonder what’s next for both men.

The Main Event Match: Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul in a Singles Titles Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship | Match Rating: .75 | This was an all-around abysmal match. I knew when I saw it was getting nine minutes that the creative didn't even think this match was going to be good. Nothing notable happened in the match. What happens afterwards is what everyone is talking about. John Cena attacked Jey Uso, and as he was beating him down, Cody Rhodes made his return to save Jey Uso and announced at Money in the Bank, it'll be Cody Rhodes and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso going against WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul in a Tag Team Match.

The May 24th | WWE Saturday Night Main Event | The Match of the Night: Bron Breakker & Seth Rollins (with Paul Heyman) vs. CM Punk & Sami Zayn in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ****

The May 24th | WWE Saturday Night Main Event | Episode Grade: 1.75/10 (F) | This was an all-around horrible event. Outside of the Opening Match and Steel Cage match, the show just wasn't fun, and it lacked a lot of substance, and the main event was not good as it lacked a lot of fire. Bright spots of this show were Bronson Reed aligning with Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman & Seth Rollins, and the return of Cody Rhodes.
