The May 24th | Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event | The Show Rundown:
After being on a major high after defeating Gunther at WrestleMania. Jey Uso will be set to defend his title against Logan Paul. Logan Paul confronted Jey Uso on an episode of Monday Night RAW and has taken out the World Champion on numerous occasions, with him having the upper hand in the majority of this build-up. Can Logan Paul add another belt to his collection and become a World Champion? Or will Jey Uso, in his 2nd Title Defense in his reign, defeat the Social-Media Megastar?
At WrestleMania, we saw the shocking conclusion of Paul Heyman turning on CM Punk and Roman Reigns to give his managerial services to Seth Rollins. On the RAW after WrestleMania, an angry CM Punk tried to attack Seth Rollins with the help of Roman Reigns, but they had another plan up their sleeve as Bron Breakker made his presence known and took out both men and aligned himself with Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins to form a new, dangerous stable. Sami Zayn confronted Seth Rollins about his actions and how he turned his back which made Seth Rollins give Sami Zayn a choice to leave RAW to avoid the newly formed stable but Sami Zayn declined and faced Bron Breakker in the Main Event of an RAW Episode where he was dismantled and brutalized as he took nuermous spears. Seth Rollins wasn’t done making more enemies as he had a World Title Match as he faced Jey Uso, and as he was seconds away from being World Champion, CM Punk returned to cost him his opportunity as CM Punk and Sami Zayn stood side by side and helped a beaten-up Jey Uso. But CM Punk doesn’t seem to trust anyone, as he questioned Sami Zayn, but was reassured. On the go-home episode of Monday Night RAW before Saturday Night Main Event, CM Punk and Sami Zayn both brawled with Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins and fought into the crowd. Now, who will prevail at Saturday Night Main Event, the unlikely team of CM Punk and Sami Zyan, or the newly formed mega-group of Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins?
At Backlash, R-Truth helped John Cena retain his WWE Championship against Randy Orton as he prevented Randy Orton from hitting his signature Punt Kick to end John Cena, which allowed John Cena to blast Randy Orton on the head with the WWE Title to secure the win. At the press conference, you saw R-Truth speak to John Cena, which made John Cena frustrated and irate, which made him throw R-Truth threw a table. On the following SmackDown, R-Truth had a sit-down interview with Wade Barrett to discuss how he felt after the actions of John Cena. R-Truth wants to bring back the old John Cena because the one he sees, he doesn’t know. In a Non-Title Match, R-Truth will go up against his childhood hero of John Cena.
The insanity of this feud has been ongoing since the Royal Rumble. These men don’t like each other, and any opportunity they get, they try their best to take each other out for good. Now inside a Steel Cage, they can finally put an end to the blood feud as Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre will finally put everything on the line to try to end each other. At WrestleMania, they both tore the house down, but Drew McIntyre got the last laugh. Who’ll finally get the final laugh in the potenial feud ending Steel Cage Match?
Zelina Vega has dethroned Chelsea Green to become the new WWE Women's United States Champion. Since then, Chelsea Green has been trying to regain the upper hand on Zelina Vega, but her efforts have been unsuccessful. Tonight, they will face off once again at WWE Saturday Night Main Event, the very event where Chelsea Green originally won the WWE Women's United States Championship. This match presents Chelsea with her final opportunity to reclaim her title.
