My Thoughts on the November 1st Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event:
My Thoughts: A very disappointing show to say the least, as we saw Drew McIntyre get screwed over for the one millionth time, and I think his stock is at an all-time low. But on the bright side, we have Jade Cargill as Champion, and CM Punk became a 7x World Champion as he is the face that runs the place on Monday Nights. Dominik Mysterio found a way to still be champion and now shifts to his rumored feud with John Cena at WWE Survivor Series. But let me say this, please end this Jey Uso Main Event run because it's hurting the product, no one wants to see it, and I think it's time for a Draft to reshape this roster. Jey Uso had a bad match with CM Punk, and I honestly wish he could just go back to being a Tag Team Specialist or be in the Mid-Card and chase the Mid-Card Belts. Jey Uso from 2020-2023, I enjoyed it. I thought he was solid in the ring and on the microphone, but since 2024-Present Day, he has regressed and become unbearable to watch. Now, I do hope the John Cena Saturday Night Main Event show is great because, since the reintroduction of the special event, it hasn't been well-received, and they need to actually have good matchmaking because Jey Uso shouldn't be main-eventing. Give it to someone like Bron Breakker, Stephanie Vaquer, or even Ilja Dragunov to build for the future. But a very underwhelming show, and now we shift towards WarGames.
The November 1st Episode of WWE Saturday Night Main Event — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre in a WWE Undisputed Title Match | The Match Rating: **** — Blew their Wrestlepalooza Match out of the water because wow, what an opener for the WWE Title. I thought having the stipulation that was in place was going to have Drew McIntyre win, but I was so wrong. We did see Cody Rhodes use a dirty tactic to retain his WWE Title, which leads me to believe that he is shifting little by little to a darker persona. But that's just my theory But I thought Drew McIntyre should've won this match as he deserved it more, and I felt like Cody Rhodes doesn't need the title to be something he's well established and the face of WWE. But this match was solid, and I enjoyed it. Even though it ended shakily, I don't think this feud is over, as I expect Drew McIntyre to fight for the Title again for the last time at WWE Survivor Series.
2nd Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill in a WWE Women’s Title Match | The Match Rating: *.25 — This was a squash match. Tiffany Stratton barely had any offense, and her moves weren't as effective. Jade Cargill went into her 2022 AEW Self and went into overdrive, squashing Tiffany Stratton like a bug to become a Women's World Champion for the first time in her career. Congratulations to Jade Cargill, as I expect the big Bianca Belair match will be coming sooner than later. I thought this match wasn't good because, like I said, this was a squash match and Tiffany Stratton stood no chance, even noting she was dealing with a knee injury thanks to Jade Cargill. But hoping Jade Cargill has a good reign and am interested to see how it goes.
3rd Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta vs. Rusev in a WWE Intercontinental Title Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was a fun little triple threat title match. The match I had high expectations for, but I think when Dominik Mysterio rang the bell and made Rusev think he won the match, made me deduct some points from the match itself, but Penta and Rusev, I think, should shift away to something else. I expect Dominik Mysterio to go against John Cena this month, as that has been the rumor for a while now. I thought Dominik Mysterio had a solid showing as well in this match, but now that he's done with Penta and Rusev, I wonder how they're going to do the John Cena feud and how it comes about in a few weeks when John Cena returns to RAW in Boston.
The Main Event Match: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso in a Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — I'm very much happy CM Punk is now the WWE World Heavyweight Champion but please lets end this Jey Uso Main Event Push there's no way he's getting more chances than Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight, and Randy Orton because it's getting ridculous he was very much sloppy in this match had a moment where he botched the neckbreaker that CM Punk was trying to hit, and I had a moment where I thought he was actaully going to win because how in the hell you have a bad match with CM Punk? Jey Uso is a prime example of a wrestler who gets his chances because of his name and not his talent. This match wasn't all that, and I wished it was LA Knight in this spot because it would've been a very fun and solid game between two good in-ring wrestlers. Jey Uso needs to get back as a Tag Team Guy because I'm tired of him getting opportunities over people who worked their asses off to get them. Jey Uso hinted afterwards on Social Media that a heel turn is coming, but I don't believe it because I honestly don't care for his character anymore. He peaked in 2023 and has been shoved down our throats since then. But congratulations to CM Punk, and I pray we see a great title run from one of the best to ever do it.
The November 1st WWE Saturday Night Main Event — The Match of the Night: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre in a WWE Undisputed Title Match | The Match Rating: ****
The November 1st WWE Saturday Night Main Event — The Episode Grade: 5.50/10 (C) — This was a very disappointing show, especially seeing Drew McIntyre get unfairly treated yet again—his momentum is at an all-time low. On a positive note, Jade Cargill captured the championship, and CM Punk is now a seven-time World Champion, firmly holding the spotlight on Monday nights. Dominik Mysterio retained his title and is likely headed into a rumored feud with John Cena at WWE Survivor Series. However, the continued push of Jey Uso as a main eventer is hurting the product. The audience seems uninterested, and it’s time for a roster reshuffle via the Draft. His match with CM Punk was lackluster; he should return to being a tag specialist or compete for mid-card titles. I appreciated Jey’s run from 2020–2023—he excelled in the ring and on the mic—but he’s since regressed and is tough to watch now. Hopefully, the upcoming John Cena Saturday Night Main Event can deliver, as its recent editions haven’t landed well with fans. The key will be improved matchmaking; Jey Uso should not headline these events. It’s time to feature new talent like Bron Breakker, Stephanie Vaquer, or Ilja Dragunov to build future stars. Overall, it was an underwhelming show as we now look to WarGames.
