My Thoughts on the WWE Premium Live Event — WWE Survivor Series: WarGames:
My Thoughts: This event was the worst WWE PLE of the year. It’s unbelievable that, with 47,000 fans in attendance, only four matches were held. Not including Rey Mysterio for a San Diego show was a huge misstep. The WarGames concept should be put on hold for a few years unless it becomes truly necessary. Overall, the event was disappointing and highlights how WWE seems to value profits over giving fans what they want.
WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Survivor Series: WarGames — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: AJ Lee, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch, Lash Legend, Nia Jax & The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in a Women’s WarGames Match | The Match Rating: **.25 — This was boring, and just like last year’s match, very boring. This match added no substance, and I think this should've been a Traditional 5 vs. 5 Elimination Match, and I bet you it would've been so much better. I think this match was just a here, damn match as the build-up sucked, and the match wasn't good, and I like every lady in this match, this isn't on them, it's on the people booking this didn't need a WarGames at all. Stop with this concept, it's pointless now. You drained the life out of it.
The 2nd Match: John Cena (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio (with Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — Probably the only match I thought was decent in this match, John Cena’s final ever PLE Match of his career, and Dominik Mysterio in his hometown, trying to recapture his title. The match wasn't like the one in Boston, but it was passable. Dominik Mysterio, I thought, actually got injured, but he played it off so well, and Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez started beating up John Cena, which helped Dominik Mysterio to hit the 619, but it didn't work out. Other members of the Judgement Day, in Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, came out but got Double AA in a call back to John Cena’s WrestleMania Moment. But we saw Liv Morgan return and slap Dominik Mysterio, but it was a ruse as she helped Dominik Mysterio become a 2x WWE Intercontinental Champion, as in John Cena’s Final PLE ends in a loss, as he has one date left.
The 3rd Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Nikki Bella in a WWE Women’s World Title Match | The Match Rating: *.50 — All due respect for Nikki Bella, she contributed what she needed to do for wrestling, but they could've given this spot to someone like Lyra Valkyria, or Roxanne Perez, because this match was the weakest match of the Stephanie Vaquer Title Reign. This match didn't move me, and Nikki Bella is very sluggish and slow in the ring. And Stephanie Vaquer did everything she could to give a good match, but this didn't work whatsoever. The chemistry wasn't there, and the heat for this match wasn't even there whatsoever. They need to move with this Nikki Bella stuff because it just hasn't worked, but respect to her putting people over.
The Main Event Match: Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre & The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed & Logan Paul) (with Paul Heyman) vs. CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns & The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) in a Men’s WarGames Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — This was a lackluster match; this had no heat or juice whatsoever, because what is the purpose of a match that just feels lifeless? The match just felt not a match that should be in a WarGames Structure. CM Punk was the MVP for his team, and Bron Breakker was the MVP for his team. Which is fun because they both entered in first, and Bron Breakker pinned CM Punk to have The Vision get the win. Brock Lesnar shouldn't even be in this match; it was pointless, and Roman Reigns didn't do much. And we saw him jawing with Cody Rhodes, as the rumored third match might be happening. This match was basically a disaster for me. This match didn't do much for me, and ended the WarGames stuff for a long time.
WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Survivor Series: WarGames — The Match of the Night: John Cena (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio (with Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) in a WWE Intercontinental Title Match | The Match Rating: ***
WWE Premium Live Event | WWE Survivor Series: WarGames — The Event Grade: 0.50/10 (F) — This was the worst WWE PLE of the year. The fact that there were only four matches at an event where 47K was in attendance is insane. No Rey Mysterio in San Diego is insane, and please end the WarGames Concept for a couple of years, or unless it reaches a point it’s needed. This was a poor event, and sadly, this goes to show WWE doesn’t care about what you want; they care about the money they can make in their pockets.
