My Thoughts on the February 3rd Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:
My Thoughts: A very good all-around episode of NXT. A lot better than the mess they had on TV. We saw Robert Stone become the new Inetrim GM of NXT as Ava announced her departure from WWE last weekend on Social Media. The three title matches on the show were fun to watch, and we crowned a brand new WWE NXT Champion in Joe Hendry as he finally completed his quest and is at the top of NXT. More drama ensues for ZaRuca as we're waiting for when Zaria will strike and finally end her friendship with Sol Ruca. Overall, a fun episode. Next week looks okay, but you never know if it can deliver again.
The February 3rd Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Izzi Dame (with Niko Vance & Shawn Spears) (c) vs. Lola Vice vs. Thea Hail in a WWE NXT Women’s North American Title Triple Threat Match | The Match Rating: **** — This was an entertaining opener to this NXT episode. Izzi Dame came into this match knowing she could lose the title without even being pinned. Lola Vice, who had a very eventful weekend, tried to keep that momentum going, but before she could do much, Kelani Jordan ruined her plans by attacking Lola Vice, causing a steel ladder to crush her fingers and presumably take her out of the matchup. With Izzi Dame and Thea Hail out, I thought this would be the moment where we see Tatum Paxley screwing over Izzi Dame, but that didn't happen. Lola Vice picked up the win and retained her WWE NXT North American Title in what was her best performance in a match I've seen. I have to give kudos to Izzi Dame for a strong outing. The same goes for Lola Vice and Thea Hail. I'm interested to see how Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan’s story plays out and what's next for Thea Hail after not being successful in her chance to regain the title she lost to Izzi Dame.
The 2nd Match: Elio LeFleur vs. Charlie Dempsey in a WWE Speed Title No. 1 Contender’s Tournament Semi-Final Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Elio LeFleur is back on NXT, taking on Charlie Dempsey for a chance to advance in the WWE Speed Tournament. This match would’ve been cool if it didn’t have the time limit clock. But Elio LeFleur pulls away with the win. Man, Charlie Dempsey hasn’t had the best of starts to the year. He’s someone whom I hope one day to see on the Main Roster, but for now, he’s basically the veteran of the NXT Locker Room who lies on the mat getting pinned all the time. What’s going to change for him to start getting some wins?
The 3rd Match: The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance & M By Elegance) (with Ash By Elegance & The Personal Concierge) (c) vs. ZaRuca (Sol Ruca & Zaria) in a TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: *** — With tension between Sol Ruca and Zaria, they had to put their issues aside to focus on the task at hand and try to become TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions as they took on The Elegance Brand. We saw a lot more tension in this match. Sol Ruca and Zaria weren't on the same page whatsoever, and that led to a big issue at the end of this match. Elegance Brand put up a solid fight with a lot of tactics and offensive moves to try to wear down Sol Ruca and Zaria, but the moment everyone is talking about from this match is when Zaria took a Sol Snatcher, which caused the Elegance Brand to make a move quickly to retain their TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Titles. Now, I've said this for a while. They need to put the trigger on the Zaria heel turn. We all know it's coming, and we know it might be the final feud for Sol Ruca in NXT before she moves up to the Main Roster. But the envy and jealousy that Zaria has been showing can't be stretched out for this long. The trigger needs to happen next week to build towards NXT Vengeance Day and NXT Stand & Deliver, which is NXT's version of WrestleMania.
The 4th Match: Channing Lorenzo & Lexis King (with Arianna Grace) vs. Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors) (with Andre Chase) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: N/A — The newly formed tag team of Channing Lorenzo and Lexis King, with Arianna Grace as the valet, is quite interesting. It’s like they’re building a 2nd & 3rd Generation Group of wrestling, as they approached Charlie Dempsey, the son of William Regal, and Uriah Connors, whose father is Fit Finley and brother of David Finley in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. So it was quite interesting to see how this plays out, but in this match, there has been tension growing in Chase U with Uriah Connors being frustrated with losing, but once again, they lost with Uriah Connors leaving Chase U to unite with Arianna Grace, Channing Lorenzo, and Lexis King to be the 4th Member added to the faction. Chase U hit their peak in 2024 and have been a jobber group. Andre Chase has been in NXT for 5-Years now, and I don’t know if he’ll ever reach the Main Roster, but this stable is slowly coming to an end.
The Main Event Match: Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Jackson Drake vs. Keanu Carver vs. Ricky Saints vs. Sean Legacy vs. Shiloh Hill in a Seven-Man WWE NXT Title Ladder Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — This was a very fun seven-man ladder match for the WWE NXT Title. Now, I had my picks. I was going with Keanu Carver because of the mass destruction he's been doing. I thought they needed to keep it going by having him win the WWE NXT Title, or Sean Legacy, as I felt it had been long overdue for him to have his own special moment, as I think he's very underrated. But there was a lot of carnage and cool spots laid out in this match, like Shiloh Hill using the ladders like stilts, Keanu Carver coming out of the pillar of ladders and destroying everybody, and Ricky Saints pushing Keanu Carver onto the ladder, which snapped in half, taking him out of the matchup. My MVPs for this match had to be Shiloh Hill and Keanu Carver. They had some good moments, and Shiloh Hill kind of won me over a little bit after his performance, but the ending of the match reminded me of the HBK and Chris Jericho spot when they had a ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Joe Hendry cracked Ricky Saints with the WWE NXT Title, then he finally did it after two years of chasing the WWE NXT Title. He has done it. He finally became the WWE NXT Champion. Very happy for him. I do think it's a transitional reign to put over a young talent because he's rumored to be on SmackDown in the future, as the USA Network wants him on the show. But this was all-around a lot of fun and had some chaotic moments. Happy to see what Joe Hendry does with his reign.
The February 3rd WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Match of the Night: Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Jackson Drake vs. Keanu Carver vs. Ricky Saints vs. Sean Legacy vs. Shiloh Hill in a Seven-Man WWE NXT Title Ladder Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — A chaotic but fun match. I did want a younger talent to win the title, but I guess Joe Hendry will be the transitional champion for the time being. I do see him dropping it at WWE Stand & Deliver, but a great moment for him. I do hope he has a solid reign.
The February 3rd Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Episode Grade: 8.25/10 (B+) — This was a very delightful episode of NXT. I thought this had some fun matches and some drama-filled stories. This was a lot better than what they produced last week on NXT. Just keep up with the solid in-ring talents the shows will deliver.
