My Thoughts on the January 27th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:
My Thoughts: A very disappointing episode of NXT last week, the show was excellent, but it looked like they regressed. We got the now 7-Man Ladder Match for the WWE NXT Title in stone for next week, and more drama and all is building up for the show. I wanted to see more of Sean Legacy, Elio LeFleur, and Eli Knight on the show they need to allow the great in-ring talent wrestle because I'm sorry I don't want to watch Dion Lennox, and Nikka Lyons take up the show why not a Kendal Grey tune up match or more of Eli Knight stuff like that make the viewers excited for the weekly shows. Overall, a dud of an episode, but next week is filled with title matches, and we see who comes out as the next face of the Men's NXT Division.
The January 27th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: DarkState (Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars) (with Cutler James) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) in a WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match | The Match Rating: **.50 — Nothing too special, I'm a huge fan of Lucky Ali, aka Saquon Shugars. He needs to escape this faction and branch out as a great heel for NXT, because if you've seen his DPW stuff, you know exactly what I'm talking about. OTM didn't manage to get the win and the belts, and that's okay because I didn't expect them to win at all. But DarkState still stands tall, and we'll see who will take the belts off of them.
The 2nd Match: Jaida Parker vs. Nikkita Lyons in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Nikkita Lyons has been in developmental for five years now, but I don't know how she's lasting this long in NXT. She isn't good. She has no quality traits in the ring and is a waste of a roster spot in my eyes. Now that's a different story for Miss Jaida Parker, who has been one of the solid women in NXT on the microphone and in the ring, and she had a decent showing, basically carrying the match in my eyes. She got the quick win and is in a program with Blake Monroe. I wonder how that's going to go.
The 3rd Match: Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne in a WWE NXT Title Qualifying Match | The Match Rating: *** — An okay match, one of Dion Lennox's better performances. I didn't have him winning this match because with how Myles Borne has been booked and how his segments have been going thought he would get the win, but nope, because he thought cheating was going to help, it cost him the match as Dion Lennox is now in the Six-Man Ladder Match for the WWE NXT Title. Myles Borne, because of Ethan Page's poor advice, will not be in the match. I wonder what's next for him in NXT. Is he going to go after Ethan Page and the WWE NXT North American Title?
The 4th Match: Lexis King vs. Tavion Heights in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was pretty shocking. Tavion Heights has been someone I’m extremely high on. He can be someone who can shine in WWE and be a gemstone for them, but it’s like they don’t know how to book the man whatsoever. It’s very frustrating because do they know what they have in Tavion Heights? He can be someone who can be one of the pieces for this NXT Rebuild and shine in the process. But Tavion Heights needs a clear path to some title, the WWE NXT Title, or WWE NXT North American Title, or have him go back to NOAH-Pro Wrestling and polish his in-ring tools. Lexis King also hinted at some form of stability as well for 2nd Generation Superstars, which is, I guess, cool.
The 5th Match: Thea Hail vs. Zaria in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.75 — A solid bout. Zaria, I feel like her heel turn will be coming soon. She's going to be the one turning soon. But this match like I said was solid what I was shocked about was the roll-up win that Thea Hail got she is someone I didn't expect to get a big victory over Zaria but she did and now she can focus on her Triple Threat Title Match for the WWE NXT North American Title that she'lkl try to win back, and for Zaria she needs to focus as she and Sol Ruxa will battle for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Titles next week.
The Main Event Match: Keanu Carver vs. Andre Chase in a WWE NXT Title Qualifying Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Keanu Carver is my pick to win the WWE NXT Title next week. They need to pull the trigger quickly because he been booked very well and like a monster as he should be. HBK shouldn’t overthink it. If it isn’t Keanu Carver, then Sean Legacy is my 2nd Pick. Because Keanu Carver destroyed Andre Chase with ease, he’s going to be someone who’s going to take NXT by storm this year.
The January 27th WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Match of the Night: Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne in a WWE NXT Title Qualifying Match | The Match Rating: ***
The January 27th Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Episode Grade: 3.25/10 (D) — This wasn’t a good episode of NXT there was a lot of issues I had with the show. I felt like it regressed from the episode. It was like last week, when they displayed great matches, and fun charcters they need to allow good in-ring wrestlers to be able to hoop every week.
