Thoughts on the April 29th Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT Episode:
My Thoughts: A very good, strong episode of NXT. Darkstate made their presence known by attacking the TNA Champion Joe Hendry. We saw two pretty solid title matches. And in the Main Event, we saw an amazing Tag Team Match by the women. NXT has been very good this year, the women have been carrying the shows, and the tag division. The Men's Division needs a lot of work for the future.
The April 29th | Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Lexis King in a Singles Title Match for the WWE NXT North American Championship | Match Rating: ***.50 | A strong opener for Ricky Saints in his 2nd Title Defense as the WWE NXT North American Champion. Lexis King has improved a lot in NXT, and you can tell his character work has gotten better, and he's average in the ring, but can still do something. There was a moment where Ricky Saints did Lexis King's old thing when he was with the Varsity Blondes, which was a cool easter egg to see. But Ricky Saints being a workhorse champ is very much smart because to establish him more as that babyface champion, you have to make him establish that. I do enjoy Ricky Saints as a baby face, as in AEW, he seemed a natural as one, and he's even better as a heel, but I think they should wait in the future for that. Lexis King, I do see him being called up soon. I think the Main Roster needs some annoying heels, so he could be one they add in the future.
2nd Match: Sol Ruca (with Zaria) vs. Karmen Petrovic (with Ashante Thee Adonis) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | This match was quick. But what was highlighted was Ashante Thee Adonis being broken up by Karmen Petrovic.
3rd Match: Hank And Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) (c) vs. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura in a Tag Team Title Match for the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships | Match Rating: **** | A very good first title defense for Hank and Tank. Yoshiki Inamura has been one of my favorite people to watch in NXT since he did his excursion in NXT. This match was very fun, and the crowd was behind Hank and Tank. Hank and Tank as a team have grown; they have been improving so much in the ring, and you can notice how much they have grown from how they were when they first started it together in NXT. I'm going to say this Tank Ledger is going to be a madman when he reaches the main roster, so much potenial there for him. But this was fun, I'm super excited to see who else they face during their reign as the NXT Tag Team Champions.
The Main Event Match: Iyo Sky & Jordynne Grace vs. Giulia & Roxanne Perez in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ****.75 | This was a very fun match. Iyo Sky is having an amazing 2025. I don't think there's anyone better than her at this point. The amount of popularity she garnered this year has been a great thing to see, and she has been one of the best in-ring workers this year as a wrestler. When she reversed the Pop-Rocks into a back flip, I popped, just an amazing performer. Jordynne Grace had a great showing as well. She was a good tag partner for Iyo Sky. Giulia and Roxanne Perez's pairing has been money as they really work well together and are probably one of the best heel teams in WWE right now. A very fun TV Main Event, this match was very good. NXT Women's and Main Roster Women's have been the best this year in WWE. Women are taking over and delivering big time.
The April 29th | WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Match of the Night: Iyo Sky & Jordynne Grace vs. Giulia & Roxanne Perez in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: ****.75
The April 29th | Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Episode Grade: 9/10 (A-) | This was probably the best episode of NXT this year, I thought NXT Roadblock was, but this episode was fun because of how the main event was. The men’s division needs to be reestablished because they are struggling, and the women are carrying NXT this whole year and the Tag Division on NXT.
