My Thoughts on the May 20th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:

My Thoughts: My thoughts on the May 20th Episode of NXT, which was the go-home show before the WWE Battleground PLE. It was very average. The opening match was the best match of the night. Sean Legacy is that dude, and now has a future opportunity for the WWE NXT North American Championship. But the rest of the matches on the show didn’t do much for me, as they just lacked a lot. The segments on the show were okay. I did enjoy the Oba Femi and Myles Borne segment, where the LFG Winner Jasper Troy made his presence known and took out the WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi. The closing segment of the show was very much not needed. We saw Joe Hendry sing to the crowd, and an irate Trick Williams came and attacked, but he didn’t stand tall because Joe Hendry cracked Trick Williams to close the show out. This episode lacked good in-ring and there weren’t many highlights from this show. Now, am I excited for Battleground? I am. This episode could’ve been a lot better, but it is what it is. Next week's NXT Episode, I hope, delivers because these past two episodes have been very average and lackluster.

The May 20th | Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Sean Legacy vs. Ashante Adonis vs. Je’Von Evans in a Triple Threat Number One Contenders Match for the WWE NXT North American Championship | Match Rating: ***.75 | A high-explosive triple threat match that involved three cruiserweight wrestlers. I enjoyed this opener a lot. Also Sean Legacy is awesome this man is so fun to watch in this square circle and WWE needs rto give him an actual contract instead of him being apart of WWE ID this man can be a good piece of the WWE NXT Men’s Roster because they are lacking heavily in a lot of areas and he can be a good piece for the NXT Men’s Mid-Card scene. The match also displayed a lot of aerial moves, which were fun to watch. Sean Legacy but the win after reversing Ashante Adonis' dive from the top rope to secure the win. Now he’ll have a future opportunity for the WWE NXT North American Championship. What an opener.

2nd Match: Shawn Spears vs. Josh Briggs in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | This could’ve been off the show. The Culling group has done nothing for me whatsoever. I think the stable is very boring and is just taking up space on NXT. Josh Briggs had an okay showing, but Shawn Spears got the win off a roll-up. Afterwards, a lot of business went down, and Hank and Tank came to the aid of Josh Briggs and fought back against The Culling.

3rd Match: Out the Mud (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) vs. Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors) (with Andre Chase) in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: N/A | This was the return match for OTM, who have been out as a tag team for a while. They went up against the new members of the brand new Chase U in Kale Dixion and Uriah Connors. The majority of the match was a squash. But I’m investing my stocks into the new Chase U. I think the potenial of that group is there, as I’m a fan of Uriah Connors, who is the son of Fit Finley, and his brother is the current leader of The Bullet Club in New Japan. If they can give them a jump-start soon and have them win some matches as a unit, they’ll be a team in the tag division that can bring a lot of excitement. But I’m also assuming OTM is going to get some quick victories these next coming weeks to restablish themselves, then go after the WWE NXT Tag Team Titles. But this match was well done to show the toughness and insanity of Out of the Mud.

4th Match: Lola Vice vs. Fallon Henley (with Jacy Jayne) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.50 | This match was a filler match to build up the story being told, as there’s tension in the Fatal Influence group with Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne having issues these past couple of weeks. The in-ring match was average; it wasn’t anything eye-popping or to go home about, but I’ll say Fallon Henley should be a candidate to make the jump to the Main Roster. A miscommunication happened as Fallon Henley ran into Jacy Jayne, which allowed Lola Vice to get the victory, and tension brewed afterwards as an argument between Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne happened. The break-up is on the horizon, and I’m assuming that’ll be the feud for the summer in NXT. Fatal Influence was a very solid unit, but both women can thrive on their own, so hopefully, the pending feud between them is good.

The Main Event Match: Kelani Jordan vs. Zaria (with Sol Ruca) in a Singles Match in a Number One Contenders Match for the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship | Match Rating: *** | This was an okay main event. This wasn’t like their match weeks back, where Zaria won. But Kelani Jordan has a heel energy to her now. I know it has been brewing for a while, but I do like the changes she has been making. I had Zaria winning this match, but I was very surprised when Kelani Jordan won. So I’m assuming they are going to wait for that Sol Ruca and Zaria feud, which I’m assuming is going to happen eventually, unless they are going to be friends for a while, because at some point Zaria is going to get some gold soon. But at WWE Battleground, Kelani Jordan will take on Sol Ruca for the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship.

The May 20th | WWE Tuesday Night NXT | The Match of the Night: Sean Legacy vs. Ashante Adonis vs. Je’Von Evans in a Triple Threat Number One Contenders Match for the WWE NXT North American Championship | Match Rating: ***.75

The May 20th | Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | The Episode Grade: 6.25/10 (C) | This was an okay episode of NXT, this was the home show before WWE Battleground, and there were some good moments from the show, like Oba Femi and Myles Boirne's segment and the Triple Threat Match. But other than that, the other stuff on the show didn’t do much for me. But I’m quite excited for WWE Battleground as the card looks very promising.

Next Week WWE Tuesday Night NXT | May 27th Episode | The Announced Matches & Segments:

  1. Ricky Saints (c) vs. Ethan Page in a Singles Title Match for the WWE NXT North American Championship.
