My Thoughts on the July 8th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:
My Thoughts: The Go-Home Show before The Great American Bash PLE, and this episode was okay. I kinda liked the in-ring action, there were maybe two matches I thought were entertaining, the Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights Match, and the WWE NXT Tag Team Title Main Event Match, which was quite fun. Blake Monroe and Jordynne Grace's segment was creative, making Blake Monroe's character be more built on NXT so the fans can be more familiar with her if they didn't know her from the previous company she worked with, but other than that just an okay and average episode of NXT.
The July 8th | Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Ricky Saints vs. The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Jackson Drake & Ricky Smokes) (with Ethan Page in a Gauntlet Match | Match Rating: ***.25 | This was a very decent match. I had no issue with the Gauntlet Style Match. Vanity Project has been aligned with Ethan Page in a sense; you can have Ethan Page as a mentor for them, but that isn't realistic, as soon as Ethan Page will be shifted to the Main Roster very shortly, according to rumors. Ricky Saint took down Brad Baylor within minutes. Ricky Smokes tried to hold his own but couldn't keep up with Ricky Saints. Jackson Drake holds the WWE Men's EVOLVE Championship as he took him down to get the win afterwards. Ricky Saints announced at The Great American Bash that he will face Ethan Page in an Anything Goes Last Man Standing Match as the potenial final match for the feud for the WWE North American Championship.
2nd Match: Charlie Dempsey (with Wren Sinclair) vs. Tavion Heights in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ***.50 | This match was not bad. Tavion Heights losing again is a choice. I thought this time he was going to win and finally have a breakout campaign as his buddy Myles Borne has been thriving since he departed from Charlie Dempsey side. But Tavion Heights came up short once again and is still put in the No Quarter Catch Crew. I do think they'll have one more match in the future again and Tavion Heights finally gets the job done.
3rd Match: Joe Hendry & Mike Santana vs. The High Ryze (Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont) (with Wes Lee) in a Tag Team Match | Match Rating: **.50 | Shout out to High Ryze as they looked solid in this match. Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont looked decent in this match; they do have more polishing as a team, but I did think they did a solid job. Joe Hendry and Mike Santana were a solid team as they got the win, but they continue to build towards the Triple Threat Match they both are involved for the TNA World Championship in a few weeks at TNA's next major PPV.
4th Match: Kelani Jordan vs. Lainey Reid in a Singles Match | Match Rating: N/A | This was a quick match but these two women are the future they will be players for a long time I’m so glad Lainey Reid is starting to grow and be familiar with the fans because she is going to be badass and a good pirce to the Women’s Division on NXT.
The Main Event Match: Hank And Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) (c) vs. The Culling (Niko Vance & Shawn Spears) (with Izzi Dame) in a Tag Team Title Match for the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships | Match Rating: *** | Hank and Tank have been one of the few tag teams in WWE I've enjoyed. I became a fan of theirs officially this year. They have been improving and becoming more polished in the ring and as a tag team. The Culling, I have zero interest in them, but they didn't look bad in this match. Niko Vance is below average in the ring, and Shawn Spears is trying his best to make this stable badass, but it hasn't hit yet. But this match wasn't bad, a solid tag team main event title match, and Hank and Tank continue to prevail as the Tag Team Champions.
The July 8th | WWE Tuesday Night NXT — Match of the Night: Charlie Dempsey (with Wren Sinclair) vs. Tavion Heights in a Singles Match | Match Rating: ***.50
The July 8th | Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Episode Grade: 6/10 (C) | This was a very average episode of NXT. Two matches were worth watching, but outside of that, there wasn’t much enticing stuff that added to the show.
Next Week WWE Tuesday Night NXT | July 15th Episode | The Announced Matches & Segments:
Channing Lorenzo vs. Luca Crusifino vs. Tony D’Angelo in a Triple Threat Match.
