My Thoughts on the June 24th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:
My Thoughts: Outside of 2-3 matches, the show was okay, nothing to be wowed about. The Main Event was pretty solid, and I liked how HBK knows how to book a women's division because they always are the highlight of the weekly shows, which I'm happy about. Next week's episode is taped, but I hope it delivers.
The June 24th | Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — Match Ratings:
The Opening Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Josh Briggs (with Yoshiki Inamura) in a Singles Title Match for the TNA World Championship | Match Rating: ***.25 | This was a solid opening match and performance by Trick Williams. I always thought Trick Williams winning the TNA Title would help him be more polished in the ring, going against veterans. I know Josh Briggs is an NXT Superstar, but Trick Williams looks decent in this match, and it was evident by watching this match. Josh Briggs did a solid job portraying his big-man style and almost pulled it off, but Trick Williams got the win and was confronted afterwards by Joe Hendry, whom he will face at the next TNA PPV Event.
2nd Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Tavion Heights (with Charlie Dempsey & Wren Sinclair) in a Singles Match | Match Rating: *** | Tavion Heights needs a push! This kid can be something special worth noting. If Tavion Heights won, he would've left Charlie Dempsey's side. Je'Von Evans got the win, another person who's going to be special with no time. Overall, fun match. I need more of this on NXT, these types of matches, and praying that Tavion Heights gets his push shortly.
3rd Match: Ricky Saints vs. Ashante “Thee” Adonis in a Singles Match | Match Rating: **.50 | Had some good sequences in this match, but this match was boring to me. After the match activities, we're getting Ethan Page and Ricky Saints III in the future. I'm tired of this feud. Wish that Ricky Saints did more in NXT instead of feuding with Ethan Page.
4th Match: Channing Lorenzo vs. Tony D’Angelo in a Singles Title Match for the WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship | Match Rating: *.75 | This feud hasn't been good or something to care about. This has been a feud to help Channing Lorenzo be established, and it just isn't working like I don't get this push; they should've kept the D'Angelo Family together. They were fine as a unit. After the loss with Channing Lorenzo becoming the WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champion, we saw Tony D'Angelo punching Luca Crusifino, getting punched after the match, resulting in Tony D'Angelo not having faith in Luca Crusifino's loyalty.
The Main Event Match: Jordynne Grace vs. Izzi Dame (with Tatum Paxley) vs. Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend in a WWE NXT Women’s Championship Number One Contendership Fatal-Four Way Match | Match Rating: **** | Jordynne Grace is on her way to Evolution as she'll face Jacy Jayne for the WWE NXT Women's Championship. Jaida Parker had a great showing in this match. Tatum Paxley now has an alliance with Izzi Dame of the Culling. Lash Legend was my pick to win. Such a huge fan of hers. She has been one of the most improved wrestlers as of this recent year, and she looked great in this match. Jordynne Grace was the safest pick, and I expect the match at Evolution to be very good both solid wrestlers, and maybe we see a Title Change at Evolution.
The June 24th | WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Match of the Night: Jordynne Grace vs. Izzi Dame (with Tatum Paxley) vs. Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend in a WWE NXT Women’s Championship Number One Contendership Fatal-Four Way Match | Match Rating: ****
The June 24th | Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT | Episode Grade: 6.50/10 (C+) | This was a very average episode. Outside of the Trick Williams Title Match and the Women’s Fatal-Four Way Match, the show was very hit-or-miss. But I’ll say this, I’m excited to see how the Tavion Heights story goes as he wants out of No Quarter Catch Crew.
