My Thoughts on the August 26th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT:

My Thoughts: NXT has been very up-and-down this year for me. This show’s quality is very hit-or-miss when it comes to the weekly product. The only bright side of watching every week is the deep women’s roster they have. But this episode wasn’t that bad. Whatever we saw, Kelani Jordan gave Blake Monroe her first loss thanks to the hands of Jordynne Grace. Lexis King sneakily took his mask off and took down Myles Borne to win the Blindfold Match. Ricky Saints is going on his way to No Mercy to face Oba Femi for the WWE NXT Title, which is something fresh, and I’m quite excited about. The MaiN Event Match delivered as it was the best match of the night for me. This was a very decent all-around episode of NXT; it still needs some polishing, but this wasn’t that bad of an episode.

The August 26th Episode of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Kelani Jordan vs. Blake Monroe in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — I really wish they could have a clean match because the two matches they have had have been disrupted by Jorydnne Grace. But this match was slowly getting better, and Kelani Jordan got the win, and the BlakeMonore and Jordynne Grace feud continues.

The 2nd Match: Lexis King vs. Myles Borne in a Blindfold Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was such a foolish match, but I enjoyed it. This was some comedy and some fun stuff. Lexis King cheated to get the win, but this was some funny stuff. But do this once and a while.

The 3rd Match: The Culling (Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley) (with Niko Vance & Shawn Spears) vs. Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair (with Charlie Dempsey) in a Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: N/A — This was a very nothing match. But I do like Kendal Grey, she has a lot of upside and potenial, and one of the gems that I hope will be used a lot in the coming future.

The 4th Match: Ricky Saints vs. Josh Briggs in a WWE NXT Title Number One Contendership Match | The Match Rating: *** — Josh Briggs has been someone who has impressed me as of late. His in-ring work has massively improved, and these past two weeks, his in-ring work has been noticeable. Ricky Saints, who confronted Oba Femi at the end of WWE Heatwave, is looking to beat down Josh Briggs to get the chance to fight Oba Femi at WWE No Mercy, and he did just that. Now Oba Femi's next potenial victim in his massive reign as the WWE NXT Champion is Ricky Saints. I'm quite excited for this feud because it's something new hope this build towards No Mercy is very good.

The 5th Match: Tyra Mae Steele (with Tavion Heights) vs. Alba Fyre (with Chelsea Green, Ethan Page & Piper Niven) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: N/A — Tyra Mae Steele is someone whom I have to really get used to. She is very green in the ring it as shown in this match. Alba Fyre got jobbed out in four minutes, which didn’t sit right with me, but this was a very quick match. On a side note, I love the pairing of Chelsea Green and Ethan Page, just straight money.

The Main Event Match: Lola Vice, Sol Ruca & Zaria vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.75 — A very fun and well-executed Six-Woman Tag Team Match. Lola Vice is he next challenger for Jacy Jayne's WWE NXT Women's Title, and getting the win in the Main Event helps with her momentum and shakes up Jacy Jayne, as doubts can start to creep in. But this match was very fun, it was for a good amount, a lot of fun in-ring action, and I like the team of Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and Zaria winning that was the right call for the Main Event.

The August 26th WWE Tuesday Night NXT  The Match of the Night:  Lola Vice, Sol Ruca & Zaria vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match | The Match Rating: ***.75

The August 26th Edition of WWE Tuesday Night NXT — The Episode Grade: 7/10 (B-) — NXT has experienced a rollercoaster year with inconsistent weekly quality, though the strong women’s roster remains a highlight. In this episode, Kelani Jordan handed Blake Monroe her first loss with help from Jordynne Grace, and Lexis King won the Blindfold Match against Myles Borne after cleverly removing his mask. Ricky Saints is preparing to challenge Oba Femi for the WWE NXT Title at No Mercy, which is an exciting matchup. The MaiN Event Match stood out as the best of the night, making this episode decent overall, but it still requires some improvement.

Next Week WWE Tuesday Night NXT September 2nd Episode — The Announced Matches & Segments:

  1. Candice LeRae vs. Xia Brookside in a WWE Women’s Speed Title Number One Contendership Tournament Semi-Final Match.

  2. Lash Legend vs. Jaida Parker in a Singles Match.
