My Official Thoughts on WWE WrestleMania XLII Night Two:

My Official Thoughts: This felt like WrestleMania, the show, established new stars, had classic matches, and displayed a lot of great moments. Night One was like poop on a stick, and Night Two was like eating a Solid Streak with Gravy. I thought the Match of the Night was the Main Event as CM Punk and Roman Reigns had an instant classic. I enjoyed the fact that Je'Von Evans, Oba Femi & Trick Williams all became established from this show, and the ladies had a very fun match as Jade Cargill delivered her best WWE Performance as Rhea Ripley won the WWE Women's Title, a very strong event. Now, WWE should use this momentum to bring a positive shift to the product as a whole.

WWE WrestleMania XLII Night Two — My Official Match Ratings:

The Opening Match: Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **** — A Star has been born, as Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar, not only defeating him but wasn't even phased by an F5 that was delivered to Oba Femi, he squashed Brock Lesnar as he won his 1st WrestleMania Match, and established himself as the Next Big Thing. Oba Femi, after the show, even called out the OTC Roman Reigns, the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Oba Femi has everything to be the next WWE World Champion. I hope they strap him up and make him win the King of the Ring & Main Event SummerSlam in Minnesota this summer against Roman Reigns.

The 2nd Match: Penta (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Je'Von Evans vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Rusev in a WWE Intercontinental Title Six-Pack Ladder Match | The Match Rating: ****.50 — Simply amazing, this was such a fun match; everyone in this match had their moment. Rey Mysterio appeartelny can move like he's in his 20s, Je'Von Evans was flying everywhere pulling Shelton Benjamin style WrestleMania Moments, JD McDonagh always has an extreme spot but that Mexican Destroyer onto the Ladder was brutal, Rusev was the muscle and was doing his thing in this match, and had the insane cutter did on him by Je'Von Evans, Dragon Lee had a stealler performance he had some amazing moments, and the winner of this match Penta did an amazing job. I'm happy he retained, as he has so much to do in this title run, but every WrestleMania Ladder Match I've ever watched always tends to be great. This was such a fun Six-Pack WWE Intercontinental Ladder Match.

The 3rd Match: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams (with Lil Yachty) in a WWE United States Title Match | The Match Rating: ** A very rushed match, this match should of had 12-15 minutes because it was starting to come together, and starting to get good but that was a common theme at WrestleMania these rushed matches, because Sami Zayn and Trick Williams were starting to tear it up in the ring, but I was happy at the end because Trick Williams became the brand new WWE United States Champion which was widely expected, and another star was established. It felt like Night Two told you who the future of WWE is: Je'Von Evans, Oba Femi & Trick Williams who all had great WrestleMania Debuts but this was a very good moment for Trick Williams I pray he has a great title reign, and for Sami Zayn we know what's coming the heel turn everyone has been expecting might occur this Friday on SmackDown with Trick Williams reverting to a babyface which I really don't want because Trick Williams right now is perfect as he is.

The 4th Match: "Demon" Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio in a Singles Match | The Match Rating: **.75 It was cool to see Finn Bálor back in the trunks, and being his Demon Persona, Dominik Mysterio had a very cool WrestleMania Entrance before the Street Fight. The match itself was okay; it wasn't anything special. The Street Fight Stipulation wasn't needed because I felt as though the Demon Character could've squashed Dominik Mysterio right away, which would've made for a great moment showing how the Demon Persona is that powerful. But I'm also glad The Judgement Day didn't come out to interfere. This was a Street Fight with no outside noise, but in the end Finn Bálor got the win, and the fans were happy he's back in the win column. This marks his first win at WrestleMania since WrestleMania 35. So this marked his 2nd WrestleMania win as he took down the man he mentored and cared for in Dominik Mysterio.

The 5th Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley in a WWE Women’s Title | The Match Rating: ***.25 — This was probably one of Jade Cargill’s best career performances. She was doing things I have never seen her do in her AEW Career & WWE Career. She was giving it her all, and it was very evident she had something to prove. Jade Cargill stepped up with one of the best wrestlers in the women’s roster, Rhea Ripley, and had a very fun match. I was glad they got ten plus minutes for this match, because this was a big match for her, as this, in a sense, was a sink or swim. She swam very proud of Jade Cargill, now B-Fab & Michin, inserting themselves had us have IYO SKY to come out and defend Rhea Ripley from them. Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to become the new WWE Women’s Champion, and now she moves to SmackDown a very fun match, and glad it was good. Easily the best women’s match from WrestleMania this year, and I’m very proud that they went out there and delivered a very fun Women’s Title Match.

The Main Event Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns in a WWE World Heavyweight Title Match | The Match Rating: ***** — One of the Greatest WrestleMania Main Events of all-time. Even the entrances made this match big-time with Roman Reigns reverting to the Tribal Chief Theme from 2020-2024. CM Punk is coming out to his Ring of Honor Theme Miseria Cantare. The match begins, and when I tell you for the next thirty-five minutes we were watching a professional wrestling match, without referee bumps, outside interference, we saw one of the greatest matches of the career of Roman Reigns as his performance in this match was spectatiular as he delivered on every clyinders he was locked in wioth this match, and was doing some call back from early of his career using moces we haven't seen him use in years. CM Punk had the foundation of youth as he looked ripped, and he was doing a lot of things we haven't seen him do in recent times. My favorite spot of this match was the low-blow, and the Elbow Drop Dive to the outside onto the Announce Table. The ending stretch of the match made a lot of sense. CM Punk is out of it and gassed. He used everything he had to take down Roman Reigns, even if he had to get his hands dirty. But Roman Reigns hit the crushing spear to win his 7th World Title. Amazing Match, and now Roman Reigns announced he's going to be full-time, so I'm excited to see what he does with this reign. Fkloers to CM Punk as he had a very good title reign, and in the end, it was an amazing five-star WrestleMania Classic.

WWE WrestleMania XLII Night Two —  My Match of the Night: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns in a WWE World Heavyweight Title Match | The Match Rating: ***** — One of the greatest WrestleMania main events of all time. Even the entrances added to the significance of this match, with Roman Reigns returning to his Tribal Chief theme from 2020-2024, and CM Punk entering to his Ring of Honor theme, Miseria Cantare. The match started, and I can confidently say that for the next thirty-five minutes, we watched an expertly wrestled contest free of referee bumps and outside interference. It featured one of Roman Reigns’ finest performances, as he executed every move with brilliance, recalling early-career moments with tactics we haven’t seen in years. CM Punk, looking youthful and ripped, brought energy and techniques not seen recently. My favorite moments were the low blow and the elbow drop dive onto the outside onto the announce table. The closing moments made perfect sense; CM Punk was exhausted, using all his strength to challenge Roman Reigns, even if it meant getting his hands dirty. Roman Reigns then delivered a devastating spear to secure his seventh World Title. It was an incredible match, and Roman Reigns announced he will be a full-time wrestler, so I look forward to seeing what he does next. Props to CM Punk for a strong title reign. This was a phenomenal five-star WrestleMania classic.

WWE WrestleMania XLII Night Two — My Official Event Grade: 8.25/10 (B+) — This show felt like a true WrestleMania: it created new stars, delivered classic matches, and was packed with memorable moments. Night One was rough, but Night Two absolutely delivered. For me, the Match of the Night was the main event, as CM Punk and Roman Reigns put on an instant classic. I loved seeing Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, and Trick Williams come out of this event looking like major players, and the women’s match was a blast, with Jade Cargill giving her best WWE performance yet and Rhea Ripley capturing the WWE Women’s Title. Overall, it was a very strong event, and now WWE should capitalize on this momentum to create a more consistently positive product.
