My Official Review of the September 7th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW:
My Official Review: I thought this episode sucked because it's like the same cycle of wrestlers who wrestle every week. No Main Event Stars, and yes, we had Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, and Bron Breakker wrestle, but man, why not every week? Why do the wrestlers never be on weekly TV? Where was Chad Gable? Dragon Lee? They didn't even progress anything for next week's Special Episode of RAW in Mexico City. It's really annoying how WWE is so bare minimum. You've got a good roster; use it! It's not that hard, man.
My Official Match Ratings for the September 7th WWE Monday Night RAW Episode:
The Opening Match: Otis (with Akira Tozawa) vs. Austin Theory (with Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul & Maxxine Dupri) in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: N/A — Glad to see Otis back; he's always someone I enjoy watching. However, this match wasn't needed. They could have done an angle where Chad Gable returned to make the save and reunite Alpha Academy. Instead, we got a match that happened on the fly. Otis and Austin Theory didn't have very good chemistry, and it wasn't a good match. It ended in a disqualification as The Vision destroyed Akira Tozawa and Otis. Oba Femi then came out, and The Vision destroyed him once again. Even though I hate the stable and think it should end, they actually looked strong throughout this episode.
The 2nd Match: Bron Breakker vs. Ethan Page vs. Rey Mysterio in a Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Match | My Match Rating: ***.25 — This was probably the only good match on this episode of Monday Night RAW. Bron Breakker was everywhere during the match, firing on all cylinders and showing exactly what he's capable of when he's at his best. He had a great performance throughout the entire episode. Ethan Page was solid as well. He had some good moments, especially trying to be buddy-buddy with Bron Breakker as a heel, but it obviously didn't work out. He played the opportunist role well. Rey Mysterio was awesome. He still moves as he did back in WCW and the early 2000s. I'm very glad Bron Breakker got the win and will be entering his first-ever Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match this coming October.
The 3rd Match: Sol Ruca vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Maxxine Dupri in a Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Match | My Match Rating: **.50 — This match was very average. I don't know why they couldn't have put Ivy Nile in Maxxine Dupri's spot because Maxxine made the match drag. I've given up on her as an in-ring competitor. I think she can be a good manager; she has shown that, but she just isn't a good wrestler. Sol Ruca did fine, but I don't know... ever since her main roster debut, her in-ring work has regressed. I don't know if management is telling her to tone it down or not, but I think she should be allowed to use the moveset she's most comfortable with instead of limiting herself. Lyra Valkyria, as always, was awesome in this match, and seeing Bayley return to cost her the match was cool. It's great to see Bayley back in WWE, and hopefully they have that match at Money in the Bank. Sol Ruca qualifying was the smart choice because she's going to have some incredible highlight-reel moments during the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The 4th Match: Joe Hendry defeated JD McDonagh (with Dominik Mysterio) in a Singles Match | My Match Rating: N/A — This match wasn't needed, and I think JD McDonagh would be much better off in the Intercontinental Championship scene. This whole Joe Hendry stuff feels very 2019 WWE, and that's not a good thing. You can have comedy wrestlers, but don't have them wrestling short, throwaway matches every week. Je'Von Evans came out wearing a Funko Pop mask of JD McDonagh, and Joe Hendry managed to pick up the win. This was the worst match of the night. I'm very unhappy it made the show. Please utilize the roster better or do another WWE Draft because it's getting really annoying.
The Main Event Match: Liv Morgan (c) defeated Stephanie Vaquer in a WWE Women’s World Title Match | My Match Rating: **.75 — This match was just okay. I expected Stephanie Vaquer to become a two-time WWE Women's World Champion, but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer. To me, Liv Morgan has been an awful champion, mainly because the booking of her title reign has been poor. There were some good moments, and I thought we were heading toward a clean finish, but The Judgment Day interfered once again, allowing Liv Morgan to hit Stephanie Vaquer with the Women's World Championship and retain. I could see a rematch happening at Money in the Bank, possibly with Becky Lynch being added to make it a Triple Threat Match. But man, WWE really needs to improve the pacing of its main events.
My Official Match of the Night for the September 7th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW: Bron Breakker vs. Ethan Page vs. Rey Mysterio in a Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Match | My Match Rating: ***.25 — This episode of Monday Night RAW featured mostly mediocre matches, but the highlight was Bron Breakker’s performance, as he was everywhere and showcased his full abilities, making it a strong showing overall. Ethan Page was decent, with some good moments as a heel unsuccessfully trying to buddy up with Breakker, and was opportunistic in the match. Rey Mysterio was outstanding, moving as he did in WCW and the early 2000s. I’m glad Bron Breakker won, as he will compete in his first Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match this October.
My Official Highlight of the Show for the September 7th Episode of WWE Monday Night RAW: 946 — Bronco Nima, Lucien Price & Royce Keys have looked amazing, the three weeks since being a stable they been easily the most entertaining thing on WWE TV. Triple H has done a great job with Royce Keys & OTM’s first couple of weeks as a stable; they’ve been super badass and taken seriously. The only way he messes this up is if they lose to The Bloodline. They should honestly beat The Bloodline. Have OTM win the WWE World Tag Team Titles, and have Royce Keys challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the future.
My September 7th Official Episode Grade for WWE Monday Night RAW: 3.75/10 (D) — I thought this episode sucked because it felt like the same cycle of wrestlers we see every single week. Sure, Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, and Bron Breakker wrestled, but why aren't more of the roster featured consistently? Where were Chad Gable and Dragon Lee? They didn't even do much to build next week's special RAW in Mexico City. It's frustrating because WWE has such a talented roster, yet they settle for the bare minimum. You have all these great wrestlers; use them. It really isn't that hard.
