My Official Review of the September 8th Episode of WWE NXT:
My Official Review: This was a very solid episode, I must say. Even though the majority of the matches didn't really hit for me, what I really like about NXT is that they feature every division. That's something I really respect about HBK's booking: every division feels strong and is taken seriously. Just look at the NXT Tag Team Division. It's stacked with hungry, talented young teams, with the Creed Brothers now feeling like the veterans of the division. Overall, I thought this was a fun episode. I've really been enjoying NXT this year, and next week's show looks like it's going to be even more fun.
My Official Match Ratings for the September 8th WWE NXT Episode:
The Opening Match: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Jaida Parker in a WWE NXT Women’s Title Match | My Match Rating: **.50 — This was actually a very underwhelming WWE NXT Women's Title Match. I really thought this was delivered because we know these two are future key pieces of the WWE Future. They had little chemistry and had moments where they showed flashes of what could have been a good match, but in the end, Kelani Jordan came away with the win as she retained the WWE NXT Women's Championship.
The 2nd Match: The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed & Julius Creed) vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in a Tag Team Match | My Match Rating: **** — Oh, how I missed the Creed Brothers. This was my Match of the Night because, man, if you don't understand, back in 2023 the Creed Brothers were touted as the next best tag team in the WWE System. Now they are back in NXT, rebuilding themselves as a team, but man, what's there to rebuild? They looked amazing in this match; same with Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno they looked great in this match as well. The NXT Tag Team Division looks so amazing right now and very strong. I'm excited to see the Fall and Winter go for that NXT Tag Team Division. But welcome back, Creed Brothers so happy HBK is going to save their careers because they should be multiple-time Tag Team Champions on the WWE Main Roster.
The 3rd Match: Jackson Drake (with Brad Baylor, Myka Lockwood & Ricky Smokes) (c) vs. Tavion Heights in a WWE NXT North American Title Match | My Match Rating: **.75 — Another major loss for Tavion Heights, as he was going to look to become the WWE NXT North American Champion, but he didn't manage to come away with the title as Jackson Drake made a great effort to gain the win against Tavion Heights, as he was successful in his first title defense ever since winning the WWE NXT North American Title from Myles Borne at WWE NXT Heatwave. We saw Myles Borne in the crowd eyeing Tavion Heights after what occurred at Heatwave. But now the question is: who is Jackson Drake's first realm feud going to be with the WWE NXT North American Title?
The Main Event Match: Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars & Tony D’Angelo vs. Cruz Montana, EK Prosper & Keanu Carver in a Six-Man Tag Team Match | My Match Rating: *** — This was a very decent Six-Man Tag Team Match. Side note: Vic Joseph is such a great commentary he was golden during this match. But this match was very simple, and we got the team of Mason Rook, Tony D'Angelo & Saquon Shugars as next week; with the win will be fighting for a No. 1 Contender spot for the WWE NXT Title in a Triple Threat Match next week on NXT.
My Official Match of the Night for the September 8th Episode of WWE NXT: The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed & Julius Creed) vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in a Tag Team Match | My Match Rating: **** — Oh, I missed the Creed Brothers. This was my Match of the Night because, in 2023, they were touted as WWE’s next top tag team. Now back in NXT, they look great, along with Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. The NXT Tag Team Division is strong and exciting. I’m eager to see what’s ahead for Fall and Winter. Welcome back, Creed Brothers. Hoping HBK helps them become multiple-time Tag Champs on the WWE Main Roster.
My Official Highlight of the Show for the September 8th Episode of WWE NXT: The Creed Brothers are victorious — This was my highlight of the episode. For almost two years, they were buried on the main roster, doing nothing notable besides losing every feud they were in. With this win and HBK behind their booking, I expect them to be taken seriously again. Hopefully, once this stint is over, they move back to the main roster with much better booking.
My September 8th Official Episode Grade for WWE NXT: 7.25/10 (B-) — Solid episode overall. While most of the matches didn't really click for me, I love how HBK makes every division feel important. The NXT Tag Team Division is especially stacked, with the Creed Brothers now feeling like the veterans. I've really been enjoying NXT this year, and next week's show looks like another fun one.
